    • Maybe you´re right, but there are some things that could add up to the situation. I don´t know if Guy´s drinking problems happened there or later in the tour, but it´s clear that Chris´life had changed in so many ways, and it was not easy to take.
    • I don´t want to say it sounds dumb, but I don´t find it useful at all...  Anyway, I found this article, which is interesting; https://ew.com/article/2005/05/23/how-coldplay-survived-making-xy/
    • I think most of the struggles they went through were quite natural part of becoming a big successful band, how to balance recording albums and touring, stay healthy/rested and manage pressure of label etc. So, my personal opinion is that this narrative about mainly emphasizing struggles and troubles of X&Y era is getting kind of old. It's now fair to say they went through it relatively successfully and it only made them stronger, and a few amazing songs came out of that era. We all have more difficult periods in life, doesn't mean, we can't move on and accept going through difficulties at some point. Although it's not my favourite as an album, the overall sound of X&Y is amazing. I think there was tons of songs declined from those sessions and some songs were reworked and restructured multiple times, example of that is alternate version of Talk. Maybe someone can bring out more.
