Welcome back to Coldplaying!

This year marks 26 years of Coldplaying being online and let me tell you, the internet has changed A LOT since then!

Online communities like Coldplaying have become a rare sight in 2026's online world. The rise of social media and platforms such as Reddit and Discord have taken over much of the space that forums used to occupy. The way people connect, share and discuss has shifted dramatically.

Despite all that, I feel there's something special about this place.

Coldplaying is not just a forum, it's more than 2 decades of Coldplay history. It's a place where millions of fans have come together to share their excitement for a new album, discuss their dream setlist, help each other learn an obscure b-side on the guitar, and for some reason... collectively decide to count to a million.

Beyond the collective love for the band and subsequent random sh*tposting, it's a place where lifelong friendships have been made. Some of you have even gone off and got married after meeting your partner here!

However, over the past few years, the site had started to show it's age. It takes a lot of time, money and effort to keep this beast going!

So for the last few weeks, I've been working hard to get Coldplaying back into shape. Long-standing bugs have been fixed, performance improved and the design modernised.

2026 also marks my 11th year of running Coldplaying. I've always spoke about how my goal is to keep this site alive for as long as I can. These updates are a big part of that. Not only is Coldplaying working again, but now properly preserved and set up for the future. There's still a ton of improvements to be made, but the foundations are now in a much better place.

Coldplaying in 2026 isn't trying to be the biggest community on the internet, it's about preserving the oldest space for Coldplay fans. A place where you can look back and see what people were saying in 2007 as a new album was on the horizon, but also somewhere new conversations are still being had. That's something modern platforms don't offer, that history and sense of community all in one place.

Anyway... we're still here! Independently owned, ad-free, not selling your data to the highest bidder and most importantly, not going anywhere anytime soon!

well done Stephen for preserving the "oldplaying" community too....I still remember 2007 very vividly, and 2008 will forever be one of the busiest years for new CP music! I appreciate what you do, and thank you for continuing in such sterling fashion!
