Ladies' man Ricardo Bomba to start alongside Chris Martin in The Simpsons

Recently, to celebrate the show's 20th season, there was a contest to create a new character for The Simpsons. Well, the winner has been announced as Peggy Black of Orange, Conn., and the character is Ricardo Bomba, who is quite the ladies' man.
"Rrrri-carrr-do Bomba," Black said, extravagantly rolling the "R's" in Spanish-language fashion. "He's someone that all the women love and all the men want to be."
Bomba will be introduced in the episode featuring guest star Chris Martin of Coldplay. The episode had been mostly completed, with a spot reserved for the contest character. In "Million Dollar Maybe," Homer Simpson is rushing to meet Marge for a date when he encounters Bomba in the episode that centers on a winning lottery ticket.

More questions answered by The Oracle... (over 1000 questions now answered - submit yours now!)
November 19, 2009 - submitted by Julia, United States of America
Q. Dear Oracle, Could you ask the Curator if it is difficult to pick a new piece of art to show each day? Also, could you ask how many pieces are sent in each day? Thank you
The Oracle replies:
I asked... in the 2 weeks since the room opened its virtual doors there have been 2868 submissions so that's a little over 200 per day. And apparently it's very difficult because the standard is very high. It can't be harder than selecting questions here but anyway... I'll take this opportunity to mention that the Curator does their thing and I do mine so I'm wondering why I am getting a lot of questions sent in about it. Folks there really is no point sending me notes telling me that your friend has submitted a great piece of work and you're upset it's not up. Or that you yourself have submitted and want to know if you should assume it's rubbish. I leave all those decisions to the Curator but as I just mentioned if it's getting 1434 entries per week and only 5 are displayed the odds of being chosen are greatly reduced. Similarly to the Oracle section this doesn't mean it won't appear in the future so I guess that's something we do have in common.

If you were the guitarist in Coldplay, who would you book to play at your wedding? Maybe you'd try asking your frontman Chris Martin if he'd perform a solo set, or rope in a celebrity pal like Jay-Z or Beyonce.
But not Jonny Buckland, who is so down-to-earth he instead plumped for Daniel Pierce, writes the Sun today, as he wed his longterm girlfriend, jewellery maker Chloe Lee-Evans, in front of close family and friends in London on Saturday. Buckland and his new wife already have a two-year-old daughter, Violet.
Daniel Pierce, or as he's better known, the one with the mohawk from X Factor used to be in Popstars: The Rivals reality band One True Voice. Since getting the boot from this year's X Factor Daniel has fronted a covers band at weddings, bar mitzvahs and other events...

For Coldplay.com's latest competition announced through the latest edition of The Messenger released this week, they're offering you the chance to win a Coldplay Viva Tour Programme signed by the whole band. To be in with a chance of winning it simply send your name and address to competitions@coldplay.com before Monday November 30th. One entry per person please.
In other Messenger news, there is a reminder about the recently launched Exhibition Room at Coldplay.com. The idea is that while the band are in the studio, this digital art gallery will feature submissions from Coldplay fans (ie you!), with a new exhibit on display every weekday. Click here to check out the Exhibits selected by the Curator so far, and to submit your own creation. The official site are really pleased with how it's shaping up - and there have been some excellent submissions so far! (see the first batch after the jump).
Don't forget also that back in July, Coldplay recorded a Stripped acoustic session in LA's Capitol Records building. You can now watch the entire session on iheartradio's site by clicking here - it's definitely worth a look, says the Messenger.

Coldplay Roadie #42 Blog #109 (more stories from the new Beehive studio..!)

Check out coldplay.com for a new blog entry: #42 is back, Back, BACK! And he's in the sudio...
Discuss this blog entry in the Coldplay forum here onwards [thanks cephaus & deathandallmyfriends]
I keep wanting to say "Happy New Year" every time I see people. I can't speak for others, but six weeks off tour in the warmth of home, loved ones and general all round "real life" has felt like the holiday season. It hasn't helped that I saw my first "Christmas Shopping" adverts in mid-October this year. Nobody else seems to be as chronologically confused as me, but everyone looks positively re-born. The thousand-yard-stares from a year and a half of touring have been replaced by grins, wisecracks and a crackling energy at being back together...

More questions answered by The Oracle... (over 1000 questions now answered - submit yours now!)
November 17, 2009 - submitted by Liz, United States of America
Q. Hi Oracle, It's been brought to my attention that Coldplay use to have a fanzine? Is this true? And did they have just one or were there multiple copies? Where could I still find these to buy as well? As always, thank you! Liz
The Oracle replies:
There were 2 separate fanzines but both are now defunct. The first was run by a group of ten dedicated fans and sent out as a physical magazine to subscribers of the short-lived official fan club Coldplayground. The second ezine replaced the fan club and was a free mailout send via email. There are copies of Coldplayground's fanzine still available on the Internet if you hunt around.

Tim Wheeler (Ash): 'Chris Martin should be a comic'

Chris Martin should be a comedy star, according to Ash frontman Tim Wheeler. The Coldplay singer has been urged by 'Goldfinger' rockers Ash to widen his career and seek acting roles after impressing them with his appearance in their unreleased horror movie 'Slashed'.
Ash singer Tim Wheeler said: "He was the best thing in it. He's a really, really good actor. He could be really strong in comedy."
Ash's 2001 movie also starred Foo Fighters' frontman Dave Grohl, 'Play' hitmaker Moby and actor James Nesbitt, with Chris appearing as Sherbert Bones, an FBI investigator hired to track down a supernatural serial killer alongside fellow agent Datsun Ford, played by his bandmate, guitarist Jonny Buckland.

X Factor's Stacey Soloman was made up yesterday to receive a special delivery from Coldplay. The singer - nicknamed Dagenham Stace - was said to be ecstatic when she received a personalised signed disc from frontman Chris Martin and the rest of the band. It read: "We love watching you on TV. Your singing is great and you're very lovely, Coldplay x." See the photo after the jump.
Stacey sang Coldplay's track The Scientist in week one of the live finals and received praise from all four of the judges. A source backstage said: "Stacey was over the moon with the present and was quivering with excitement. She literally couldn't believe it. Dannii's thrilled that the band namechecked Stacey, too."
