Coldplay news
Apparatjik's as-yet-untitled debut album will be released on the same day as their first ever live performance, 1st February 2010, says the wesbite of producer Martin Terife. According to his official site, martinterefe.com, the latest information is:

"Martin will be in Berlin next week for the international debut of his band Apparatjik. Apparatjik is a music and art project fusing scientific interest and artistic effort and consists of Guy Berryman, Jonas Bjerre, Magne F and Martin. Their debut album is released on the same day as their first show. 01022010. If you want to find out more about it check out: apparatjik.com

Apparatjik (pronounced Apa-rat-chik) is a supergroup that consists of Coldplay bassist Guy Berryman, singer/guitarist Jonas Bjerre of Mew, guitarist/keyboardist Magne Furuholmen from a-ha, and producer Martin Terefe. The band's name literal translation is 'agent of the apparatus'. Apparatjik is the Swedish word for apparatchik, which is a word of Russian origin and is used to describe 'people who cause bureaucratic bottlenecks in otherwise efficient organizations'.

Additionally, Apparatjik will make their very first live performance at next year's Club Transmediale, an annual festival in Berlin, due to take place between 28th January and 7th February 2010.

Inspired by the Bauhaus movement, the 'Bauhaus Bühne', and Lazlo Moholy-Nagy's work 'Light-Space-Modulator' from 1930 in particular, the first ever performance of Apparatjik will take place inside a specially constructed cube at the WMF Club Berlin on Monday, February 1st, 2010. More on the festival is available at the Club Transmediale website now.

More discussion on this debut performance is currently underway at the World Of Music forum here onwards [thanks DISK_CTM]
