At the UKMIX site's latest UK album/single release schedule, which appears to be usually quite accurate, Coldplay's first single will be '42'.No date is given for the release but it is beyond the week of 19th May 2008, which ties in with the release of the new album 'Viva la Vida' on 16th June.
