Actually as much as the mega giants like LiveNation are (rightly) maligned, a huge factor in their rise is that they were/are able to offer large tours a more simplified and professional touring experience when compared to many of the "mom and pop's" that used to be industry standard.

AAbsoluteley. I'm just saying the 'Mom and Pop's' motives wereoften (though not always) more altruistic. The small potatoes that I know just want to put good music out there. If I'd been in it to make big bucks, I wouldn't have given up broke a few years ago, lol.

exactly. T4F is the company that is promoting the South America shows. This whole situation is very weird. Why the announcement this close to the dates? Last time they did almost 6 months in advance.

According to T4F Chile, they'll announce the new dates soon, so it's not a problem with the concert producers. I think it was a schedule problem, maybe they need to add new dates or change venues. It is true that Lady Gaga's concerts didn't sell that well but it's different with coldplay, they have a bigger audience here

The Grammys are February 10...maybe they just learned they'd be playing or it was whispered to them that they really should be there?

uhm, but Coldplay aren't on the pre-nominations list.... so the only reason is to perform there, perhaps a new single. I still doubt this is the motive of postponing, Grammy performances are mostly of artists/bands who released something on the year before

Mylo Xyloto was released in October 2011 so it is in the last year in Grammy terms (October 1 - September 30). What is this pre-nominations list, never heard of it - unless it is the eligibility list, in which case they are certainly eligible.

EDIT: OK, I see there are pre-nominations (learn something new every day!), but don't see it published anywhere, just a few artists saying they are.

Ah, OK, thanks - don't think that list is complete though, it looks like that is just some of them, so I would bet that CP is still in the running for noms.

If they get nominated for some Grammys, then we'll know that's the reason for the postponement. Maybe they will do a short US leg Jan/Feb, then do SA/Mexico in March/April. I hope this is the case, for myself here in Ohio, and for those of you who are directly affected by this postponement.

It seems a good reason, as PopArtist said, Mylo Xyloto could be nominated because it was released between the Grammy's terms. There's another reason of postponing the tour: in Argentina there are some porblems in taking dollars out of the country, that was the reason they postponed Rock In Rio 2013 in Buenos Aires.

It may sound a bit selfish but I'm so happy they postponed the tour because I wouldn't be able to go in February so if it is in March/April it would be awesome!

Yeah, and besides.. if it isn't cancelled, we would have more time to collect the money for the tickets !!! Time for fun is specialist when charging high prices D:
