But serious time, I am actually curious as to your opinion with "pop" songs ("pop" meaning RnB and the general type of music that is popular with the majority of mainstream media today).

So my question is: What is the difference between a bad pop song and a good one.

Could you give one example of a very popular pop song that you thing is horrible, and one that you think is good - and tell me why?

Why do you guys both enjoy Climax so much? I certainly can notice the tight production it has and it's well crafted. But it sounds so generic to me. EDUCATE ME

does it really sound generic to you? it sound really special to me...it's not like the kind of thing that's playing on the radio. it's not a stupid club banger, it's a real song with real emotions. i like how minimal it is compared to the huge electro pop party rockers kinda thing

It sounds like a 90s pop song to me, a lot like some of the backstreet boys' stuff.

♦ "Diet Mountain Dew"-Lana Del Rey

Also, "Boyfriend" by Justin Bieber gets on my nerves. I caught the beginning of it the other day when he premiered the music video for it on "The Voice." I think it's mostly the talky/rapping bit.
