Question What does the MMIX symbol mean?

Most of the little logos that are below the tracklisting of the album and in several other places are easy to get (The transmission tower, the spiral, etc.). But I just don't understand the MMIX one!!! It looks like a Harry Potter wand or something, ideas??

^Yeah it's a leaking pen so he can't read what he wrote so he thinks it says 'ooooh' again so he records that so we start complaining about lack of inspiration.

Looks like a wand to me. And it magically makes everyone happy again and then Teardrop starts.

I think it's a stick shift that the kids use when the drive their c.....

Just kidding.

I actually have no clue what it is either. I think there was a rumor hoing around when the pop-up edition was released that the short songs used to be full songs with lyrics. Maybe that's true and it's from one of M.M.I.X's (Never really thought about it but I really love that title) lyircs. It'd be cool if anyone had that edition to look into it....

Dear Chesse Nip 2,

How is the future? Do they have jet packs? Did gorillas take over the world? Has Car Kids been released yet? If so can you email me a copy from your brain (obviously where data is stored in the future). Well, good luck with those terminators!

Don't worry, just joking around. We're fans like everyone else. I'm sorry if I offended you.

I know it sounded sarcastic, but I kind of meant what I said about the wand.
Don't you think MMIX is supposed to be a transition from UATW into Teardrop? Well, I think they are much happier in ETIAW than in UATW, so maybe something happened that made them more positive...
You know when you suddenly feel happy, for no particular reason? Like someone or something performed magic to make you feel better. Maybe it means something like that.
So I think, if it is a wand, it's a metaphor for something positive happening.

^ That's a pretty good explanation, wouldn't have thought of that but it makes sense to me

It's kinda putting the concept album back into effect which everyone's seem to have forgotten. If we could really figure out the storyline from HLH up to MMIX it'd be easier to try and understand what they were getting at. And I do have the pop up. In one of Chris' notebook entries he wrote A Hopeful Transmission at the top really big and then lyrics to a song I've never heard at the bottom(it also said they were going to try out electric guitar in it, I'd like to hear that version). Maybe they were lyrical songs at one point. Oh and apology accepted

I think that it has a upside down m at the top, then underneath it, I think it is a rightside up m, then the long line i think is the i, and then i think that the x is formed by the two m's. that's my best guess. I don't know for sure though. hey-does anyone know what the [I]us against the world[I] symbol means?

^The UATW symbol must be like a stick figure/person using a C and a K. It must be symbolizing a person who is "against the world" i guess. And i agree with the M to M, slash I to X thing. :3

There was a pinball wizard in a Who song. MMIX though refers to the Mark Model 9, a robot that levitates. The Mark 10 was better however, and more reliable.

In my opinion, the wand provides light after the lights dim down for UATW.

ETIAW is meant to be a positive song, so I feel the wand in MMIX represents the atmosphere being lit up again... and then "Ritmo de la Noche" kicks in
