Ok, finally, here's my review!
I arrived at the stadium few minutes before 11 AM. I had a ticket to Golden Circle and I went to the proper gate to wait there. There weren't that many people, maybe 50, as opposed to the other gates where people who had other tickets were waiting. They opened the doors at 4:30PM, and 5 minutes later I was inside the stadium. Now, here's some important information for those who are going to their concerts in stadiums: I went to the front of the stage but I couldn't see very well! I am not very tall, but the stage is in a very high level and if you're going to the right front of it, you won't see very good! I moved to the side of the main walkway. This was pretty much my view to the stage: ![]() I recommend everybody to go to that place, because you'll have a good view to the stage and a great view to the walkway, and it's well-know that Chris, mainly, but also the other members, usually walk there. You'll see them right in front of you! I was very happy with the place I had! At 6PM, it started raining. A lot! The supporter bands had to play under some sort of awnings, as you can see on the picture above. Rita Ora didn't really cared about the rain and ran and jumped all the time, but Marina had to perform with a umbrella. I liked both performances, to be honest! It didn't stopped raining until 9:30 PM! That was the hardest part! (Look what I did here! ) The security guys gave everybody waterproofs, who kind of looked like plastic bags , but we were already all wet! It was a bit uncomfortable, because it rained a lot for hours and we couldn't really move a lot! As you can see here, this was pretty much how everybody was looking at the time: ![]() Anyway, surprisingly, it stopped raining when they started setting up everything for Coldplay! The concert started and I saw yesterday on the news that it kept raining for 20 minutes in the beggining and in the the end but I can't really remember! I love Back To The Future theme + MX + Hurts Like Heaven + In My Place! I think it's a great way to start the concerts! Also, all those giants screens, lasers, confettis and fireworks gave it an impressive effect! I loved the beggining of Yellow with Chris on Piano. There were balloons during Lovers in Japan. I like how they play Violet Hill and then GPASUYF, they are great songs together and I think it's a great way to finish the "1st part" in the main stage. Then, there was the part of the concert in the X-stage. It's not that I love Princess of China or their collaboration with Rihanna, but I've already gotten over it, and I really loved the live version! Warning Sign is amazing too! It's one of my favourite songs and played acoustic is fantastic! I really loved it, specially the end when Chris was alone playing piano! (I posted my video of it in the previous page) Don't Let It Break Your Heart, Viva La Vida, Charlie Brown and Paradise were when the crowd went totally wild! I think it's a great combination of songs and the xylobands really work well! It's amazing to see the whole stadium glowing in the dark! Then, they went to the C-stage. I couldn't see anything but I didn't really mind, because it's really nice that they care about people in the back and play songs next to them ![]() I completely loved the acoustic version of Speed of Sound! I'm sure the original version would be more magnificient in the stadium but I loved how they played it! In the end, they played the usual songs. Chris grabbed a Portuguese flag from the audience and he kissed the stage before they left! That was really nice of him! ![]() I think they enjoyed playing here, in spite of having rained a lot. Guy and Jonny smiled a lot! Chris said nice things to us! ![]() Now, about the setlist: It's the Mylo Xylotour and, obviously, they have to play more songs of this era. Also, they already have 5 albums, so there are some songs now that "really need" to be in the setlist, if you know what I mean. A big part of the audience only knows the singles and the most well-know songs. For example, during Warning Sign, I was a bit embarrassed because my cousin and I were the only people who were singing it and I could totally hear us! Obviously, the most faithful fans always want some less played songs, but we're the smallest part of the audience! (I think Warning Sign was their gift for us! )To sum-up, I think they knew how to" build" the setlist and make a good mixing between the previous eras and the MX one. They knew how to combine the songs and the differents stages! I think it was a good setlist. I saw them live in July, less than an year ago, and there were 7 new songs in this concert, so I can't really complain! I had a great place. Visually, it was fantastic with all the lasers and giant screens and, specially, the xylobands. For me, it was an awesome concert!

Quote: That's a bit harsh. While I have said many times (and stand by), my opinion that anyone who expects things from a Coldplay show that the band are simply not going to deliver is fooling themselves, that doesn't mean everybody has to like how things are. |

Baah still no photo of Chris holding our flag! I thought everyone would take a photo of that moment.
Haha that's a small price to pay for being in front row for coldplay! |

Quote: I don't think you deserve an answer. But ok, remember, a fan is not necessarily someone who idolatries everything the band does. I love coldplay, and I can also tell you that they know this. Criticism is good. To idolize is quite always useless. Try to be a little more "mature". Yours was a classical "shouting monkey" answer. This is supposed to be a free and constructive forum, not a collection of "WOWWWWWWWWW, OH MY GOD, I LOVE U SOOOOO MUCH GUYS!!!"

Quote: Maybe so, but I gotta say, IMHO rehashing the same complaints over and over (particularly when no one here can do a d#$n thing to change them), is no more constructive (or less annoying) than blind idolization. |

Quote: Look, there's way and way of saying things. And being rude is never helping (i'm not obviously thinking about you). I maybe I'm too hopeful, but I still think that someone there is following this forum. I'm not asking (and I'm not the only one) for a complete change in a setlist. I'm simply trying to understand why a powerful and talented band like they are, is not able to propone a little variation, a little turnover (like radiohead and so on) and to sustain a little longer gig. I mean, it's their work, they are able to do a lot of things, and after all the concerts I've been to, I can say that they do a really good job live, they make you feel good and taken by the gig almost always. I know this is a MX tour, I know they have a lot of concerts to do, I know all this stuff. But come on, don't tell me that it's not possible to build a more valid setlist, a longer one and to make a little turnover between 5 songs at least for example. Keep a core of 20 songs and change 5 songs in the whole thing. Is it so strange or impossible to do? Is it so difficult to play more than "less then 2 hours"? I don't think so. Apart from this, yes, it's true, maybe it's useless to discuss about this, but then, do you really think it is more constructive to idolize without any reason? I take an example to you, that i didn't wanted to take. Do you remember the re-introduction of life is for living in the setlist? Did you love it no? Well, it's thanks to these discussions and these interests that it happened. I asked it with my friend in Liverpool, in 2010, to Phil and Chris, telling them it was one of the best live song they could have created. Well they told us yes, it's a great idea. And that was. Now, I don't want to go on anymore on this, thanks to you fakfak for having being polite. I don't want people to think the same, I just like to discuss with a reason. That's a forum no?I'm sure I'll enjoy a lot the concert in Nice on tuesday, I will just live it with a different mood, as I said, firstly looking at the show and secondly to the rest. I'll lose my voice for sure.

Quote: I never said it wasn't a valid gripe. Look at it this way: The two main gripes with Coldplay's live sets since at least as far back as 2005 are that they're short and repetative. Considering these issues have been ongoing for that length of time, it seems pretty clear to me that the band has no intention of changing those things. Therefore, I'm not sure why they have to be brought up here (and spark heated arguements), every single time the band embarks on a new tour. If anyone who could do anything about it was inclined to based on complaints, they would have done so long ago most likely. |

They have also said multiple times that once they find something they feel it works tend to stick up to it, so I wouldn't expect any change soon (maybe on the C-Stage segment, just maybe).

![]() Many of my life’s monumental moments have been moments that I could never even picturing happening. Things that still give me chills when I think about them, even if they happened years, months or days ago. In my recent memory, one of those moments saw me standing in the middle of a stadium in Porto, Portugal, lightly falling rain fell in between thousands of paper butterflies descended upon the crowd of 50,000 people. Better yet, the music of a live Coldplay concert was penetrating my ears and I couldn’t be happier. ![]() Coldplay, which of course includes Chris Martin, Guy Berryman, Jonny Buckland and Will Champion, rolled into town tonight, which was only the first stop on their European Mylo Xyloto tour and the minute you walked into the Dragon Stadium, you could tell the audience was stoked. Do you know what, I’m almost jealous of those who became new fans tonight, because there was probably no better concert experience for them to see the band in all their glory. Coldplay’s presence and sheer force on the stage is undeniable, but long time fans have known that for a while. http://youtu.be/SLbyGlmj-d8 Just like Every Tear Drop is a Waterfall, every minute of the concert was an experience. Starting with the specially programmed wrist bands that light up throughout the show, timed to the beat of the music or the roar of the crowd. At times, the light show it caused was so stunning, it was as if we were in a jar of really brightly coloured fireflys. For some, it was probably one of those moments that I mentioned earlier. The lights and their spectacle were really the fifth member of the band and while the show was doused in lights, it never took away from the concert for a minute. ![]() Stripped down on their quieter songs, the band is just as engaging. Their energy is addictive and caused the audience to stand on their feet for the entire concert. Speaking of feet, Martin and the band put theirs to good work, crisscrossing the stage and even the stadium, no doubt to ensure that even the fans in the nosebleeds felt that they had their own up close and personal experience with Coldplay, something that many bands would never even think to do. ![]() Whether you’re a new fan of Coldplay, or you’ve made out to your fair share of the band’s best-known songs, this is a must see concert. This is the concert that you will talk about when you share your favourite concert stories, this is the concert that you will compare all other concerts to and the cool thing about this show, is I think Coldplay will remember it just as much as we did. |

And I know it's not the greatest quality at all but here it is anyway. Remember I just recorded it to have something to remember that moment and nothing else. I was too busy looking at them to focus on the camera
