Not that I don't care, but I'm okay with this.
I like this show, Matt Cardle was good last year but this year is pretty bad.

Didn't Chris say he couldn't ever watch these type shows or participate on one, because the pressure of it was too much? Or something along those lines.

i don't know what the difference should be between performing at this show and every other tv show they've done this era, i mean MTV EMA's for instance

I think Anna put it beautifully earlier in the thread:

"It's just very disappointing to me that they would agree to go on a show that doesn't encourage young people to try to be the best they can at music - but to be the most famous."

It's not the fact that this is mainstream TV that is putting some people off, it's the fact that it exploits young talent, which is something Chris has stated in the past he is dead against.

As long as they don't do a shitty duet with some contestant, I'm fine. Very reputable musicians and bands have performed on these shows in the US and have not been diminished in any way. I dare say Coldplay will gain more fans than they'll lose.

They're not going to be judges and tell young kids they suck. They're just performing.

sorry for my ignorance, but i didn´t get it .. Coldplay is finally confirmed to perform??

I think it was an article in the Q magazine just couple of days ago, when Chris or Will said that if even one of the band members is down about something, they just don´t go for it and ¨play Smith´s song¨. As mentioned in the article, only Chris and Jonny were up for playing on X factor, so i thought the offer was turned down by them
:dissapointed:

Does that mean that Will has lost his seal of disapproval? (Maybe someone has hidden it!?!)

Well, the guys are good mates with Gary Barlow so I imagine he was the one to convince them to appear on the show. I think he's going all out to prove he's better than Simon Cowell. What better way to do it than bring in the biggest band in the world at the moment.

Plus, if they completely rock out the place with Charlie Brown (new single promotion?) I'm cool with that!

This a very poor decision. It's a shame that the band feel the need to lower themselves to perform on trash like X-Factor. I'm very disappointed. If they're going to perform on TV they should stick to quality shows rather than pieces of shit like this.
