Your 'Best of Coldplay' Album

Hey all,

Just out of curiosity, if you had to make a 'Best of Coldplay' album, what songs would you include? How would the tracklisting go etc and keep it at a size of around about ten songs.

Mine would go something like this.

1. The Scientist
2. Yellow
3. Politik
4. Clocks
5. Fix You
6. Viva la Vida
7. Violet Hill
8. Life in Technicolor ii
9. Lovers in Japan
10. Charlie Brown

Seems like I have a slight bias towards VLVADTHF haha.

This is not "the best of coldplay", but since I was bored, I made it. I would name it Life In Technicolor, cause they always name their albums by a song.

jeez, only ten songs?

most 'best of' albums i have seen have a lot more than ten songs on them!

but if i had to choose 10 it would go something like this:
1. Don't Panic
2. Lovers in Japan
3. Politik
4. Violet Hill
5. The Scientist
6. Life in Technicolor ii
7. In My Place
8. Fix You
9. Viva La Vida
10. Yellow
Though believe me, if I could make it 20 songs I would

They way I figure a best of album is that a band should take NO MORE than 25% of the total number of studio album songs they have released so far. So not including Mylo Xyloto that would equal 10+11+12+10 = 43 .....so 30% would mean about 13 songs...

But including Mylo Xyloto I would give the "best of" 3 or 4 extra slots cause Mylo has 14 songs.....not sure if there all "complete" songs though....

So thats 17 songs for 5 albums here they are:

1. Violet Hill
2. Square One
3. In My Place
4. Sparks
5. Viva La Vida
6. I Ran Away (B-side)
6. Moving to Mars (B-side)
7. A Message
8. A Rush of Blood to the Head
9. Clocks
10. Fix You
11. Death and All His Friends (No Escapist)
12. Politik
13. Yellow
14. The Scientist
15. Amsterdam
16. N/A
17. N/A
18. N/A

Parachutes: 3 songs
AROBTTH: 6
X&Y: 3
Viva la Vida: 3
B-Sides: 2
Mylo Xyloto: At least 3 songs most likely

I've got three spots reserved for Mylo Xyloto and I didn't want to put anything on there that has been released yet because I want to hear the full album first. Paradise might make the cut cause I love that song....and I might give it more than 3 songs and take something off, 18 is a good number for 5 albums I think....

But I HAD to put Moving to Mars on here....SUCH a great song, shame it was left off the album

clearly I'm not a HUGE fan of X&Y but I do love the song...

Up until this album (since I haven't heard it in its entirety) I can't legitimately add any to my list.... except for maybe HLV lol - I love all their albums thus far... just some more than others
