I know the basic chords that Chris uses are just C,G,F & Am, but he obviously is using variations and things. I suspect there might be an alternate tuning too.

I think it's the whole time:
C(into Cadd9), G(with the addition of d [3rd fret b string]), F and then C and G (those two chords ale played half a time)
That's it.

When it comes to "Chaos as it swirls" It is F, Am, G.
I'm still not 100% sure because I didn't have a chance to play it on piano, but it sounds right.

That looks right to me, I'm trying to work out the chords on an acoustic, will post when I get it. The tuning is being a pain.

chris plays it in standard tuning with capo on the 3rd fret.
the chords are :
