I've actually seen a lot of the new songs live, it's just that I saw them earlier in the year before the album was released so I didn't know any of them. Which means they're just going to be even more amaaaaazing!!!

^Ohhh it depends on what you're looking for.

I find Pala (the second) a bit more pop orientated.

Friendly Fires always comes across a little more synth electro vibes.

If you want more like Kiss of Life you'd be safer going the debut and then working your way around to Pala I'd say.

^Agreed. 'Friendly Fires' is more punk (in a dancey way) and 'Pala' is more pop. They're both well-worth checking out though.

I think Kiss of Life isn't quite representative of either of the albums though. Probably moreso the first, but it's still a bit different to any of the songs on there.

They did a great cover of Depeche Modes Strangelove.

I just found out at almost midnight last night that I'm spontaneously seeing Friendly Fires on Jimmy Kimmel tonight.

MUST. BEGIN. LISTENING. RAMPAGE.

Downloaded Pala. Giving that a whirl first.

Okay, that was pretty cool. 5 songs, which was more than I expected for a comedy show concert. Ed's dancing was entertaining as hell. For something that was FREE, I'd say it was time well spent.

Three of them were "Blue Casette", "Hawaiian Air", and "Skeleton Boy". I was only a casual fan so I couldn't match a name to the other two. The first two songs were filmed for TV, the other three were bonuses for the audience in attendance (which was really cool, because it's usually just 1 bonus song for the audience). Barely touched Ed's shirt when he dived into the crowd (he turned around before I could really touch him).

Also to my surprise, there were actually legitimate fans of the band in the audience who knew all the lyrics. I expected the crowd to just be random people like me who happened to get free Kimmel tickets. So that was awesome too.

I'd like to guess which songs they played but I really can't pick which ones they would have chosen, haha. Glad you had fun though!

AAAHH you touched Ed's shirt!!
His dancing pretty much made my entire day when I saw them play at a festival a couple of months back

Did some research. One of the other songs was "Kiss of Life". Can't find video of the 5th one. I want to say it was "Live These Days Tonight" but I'm not sure. It was the song Ed dived into the crowd for, if that's any help.

Here's the one song that actually made it onto national broadcast, BTW:

"Skeleton Boy"

"Live These Days Tonight" is the first single off "Pala," so that sounds about right. Congrats on touching Ed's shrit, BTW.
