good for that kid getting picked on for body slamming him on the ground. Bully's need to be seriously be put in their place. Of course you know the parents of that bully is going to sue |

They should both receive equal punishment, if anything. Self-defense is not a crime, and the kid was only defending himself. If teachers can't do their job right, then the kid deserves the right to defend himself from harm, and in this case, bodyslamming the fuck out of the attacker was the best option. Good for him.

Epic.
The fact that the victim (Casey) got a longer suspension than the scrawny kid really pisses me off. That scrawny one only got four days off or something... This was a case in Australia and here teachers tend to do nothing when they see schoolyard bullying. Therefore I think it's pretty justified for the big kid to defend himself by hurting the other just enough so he wouldn't be able to continue his shit (note that afterwards he makes sure to keep distance and walk away) They both deserve punishment sure but the lengthened suspension for Casey is a piss poor move from the school who didn't even do anything to prevent this in the first place (apparently it has been a long-standing problem of Casey being bullied, and that's all too easy to believe). What message is the school trying to send? Don't stand up for yourself, just keep taking it? Yes, great move school, causing further mental damage to the victim. UGH. I don't believe violence is the answer, but good grief.

No way! That one at the end has gotta be at least over 15 (which is totally acceptable for me).

The bully got what he deserved. The one thing that bullies understand is violence and a person can only take so much till he has to take matters into his own hands. It is completely frustrating to know both were suspended (although that matter is up for debate in itself). Schools are meant to help young individuals grow, defend them when they can't defend themselves and in this case, the school should be named and shamed as a poor example of a education facility. The victim, Casey, although a few years older, clearly did not want to hit the kid, even telling him to leave him alone, but after the bully got a few jabs in and realised he could make a show of it, well, is it really a surprise to anyone that this happened?
The most shocking thing about this incident is not that the victim body slammed the bully, but that the entire world is shocked that a victim was capable of standing up for himself AND that people are questioning the victim's actions - Casey's behaviour should be inspiring to victims and a warning to bullies worldwide.

Good for him. He should stand up for himself. Besides, he was about twice the bully's size. He could take him easily.

I also think Casey was sticking up for himself and that he had the right to do so.
Good on him and hopefully the bully has learnt to leave him alone. |
