Default Liam Gallagher Meets Jonny Buckland and tells him he cannot understand how Coldplay get along!

Liam Gallagher: Success Is Painful

Liam Gallagher says he and his bandmates are “scathed” every day.

The rock star has enjoyed a successful career, often grabbing headlines for his no-nonsense behaviour as a member of Britpop band Oasis.

Now he is looking to carry on this attitude with his latest venture – Beady Eye – which was formed after he fell out with former colleague and his brother Noel.

Liam loves how, even though he is still going strong, his fellow musicians go through pain for the cause all the time.

“We’re scathed every f**kin’ day and we wouldn’t have it any other way,” the 38-year-old told Q magazine. “Our new keyboard player’s broke his foot already. Dropped a bowling ball.”

But Liam feels as though some of his peers are not being rock and roll enough. He says that he saw British indie band Coldplay and couldn’t believe there was no friction between them, which he thinks is a healthy part of any group. It happened while Beady Eye guitarist Andy Bell was wearing an unusual piece of attire. “I bumped into a couple of the Coldplay lot in the pub,” Liam explained. “Jonny [Buckland, Coldplay guitarist] said, ‘We’re just really happy.’ What, not one of you p**sin’ each other off? Nothing happened? People have got to have something to talk about, haven’t they?”

Beady Eye will release their album Different Gear, Sill Speeding in the UK on February 28. Liam claims that if people don’t expect much of the record it can only be because he is too much of an icon.

“Well, that’s pretty sh*t,” he said when asked how he’ll react if the public doesn’t like his latest project. “If people have low expectations of us it because you’ve been f**kin’ blinded by what you idolise man, that’s what you’ve been. That’s what’s happened.”

It must be noted that Liam Gallagher and Coldplay live within minutes of each other in the same part of London.

All the bands bests have a lot of tension. The Beatles (RIP), Radiohead, and Oasis (RIP) have all had major problems in the past, but have also made some of the best music the world's ever seen.

Talking

Wow.

So because they're nice guys and friends, Coldplay are not a "healthy" group?

Contention is not a necessity, and it never has been. That is a very unfortunate stance that people today are taking on relationships of all kinds. Many claim that they can't help it, when really they're just too prideful to take the steps required to chage things.

"People have to have something to talk about..."

Freaking Liam. You're supposed to make music for the public, not material for gossip sessions and the overenthusiastic media.

Although I do agree that some of the best bands have had trouble in the past.

U2 haven't really had major issues and have been the band to beat for the past 30 years. They've had niggling issues in terms of musical direction but nothing full blown. The only major problem they encoutered was nothing to do with hatred but concern over Adam Clayton's conduct with the bottle. Nowadays though Adam's the most clean man in rock music! But there is some truth. In argument comes a determination to prove yourself better than your fellow musician so that no doubt helped many bands!

INDEED

And they do have their issues, fights, etc., as mentioned in the Roadie book. Plus didn't Chris say in an interview last year that there was a lot of tension in the band after they got back from America during the Viva tour? Just because they don't go all apesh*t on each other in public, that doesn't mean they don't bicker.

Liam is just upset because fans come up to him and sniff the dandruff off his head thinking it's cocaine. /random

I agree. I think on some level it's healthy to push each others buttons. I think that's how they create the best music, by pushing each other.

I don't know what the problems might be, Guy's just become too handsome to be lit properly or Jonny's fingers have begun to move too fast and he can play too many notes. Whatever the problem is, I always enjoy watching it get solved before 9pm.

Agreed !

Plus everybody know about Chris and Guy's fights. I think there are tensions, they're just not big enough to have sort of big impacts (breaking up, whatever). They certainly get along very well, but you can't always agree on every single things !

The band has always said they fight about every little thing during recording.

You have to work on making sure the band gets along well enough to stay together and do well. You can do this for many years like Rush who have the same three guys.
