Member of the Month!!
Hi everyone!
We thought we'd like to start this year with a new thing: Member of the Month. With that we want to give acknowledgement to members who have contributed to the forum in a special way, members are selected by the admin and global mod team. There are no real prizes but every selected person will have this added to their account for one month:  So let's start: January 2011! The first person to receive the title will be fsa for his tremendous help in the multimedia section. Whenever there is something that is thought to be lost - he has it. Whenever we think nobody is able to capture something - he can. Whenever we think nobody recorded something that has only been broadcast once - he did. And he doesn't mind sharing it with us! Thank you very much, fsa!  February 2011! This month we acknowledge the tremendous work that Santa's elves RedGirl76 and Lore have done with the Secret Santa project in 2009 and 2010.  They have put a lot of time and effort into organising this two years in a row, be it receiving and sending PM's to more than 100 members, matching up people from all around the world or even sending out cards to those whose cards got lost. I'm sure everyone who participated, enjoyed it and let's hope the elves will keep up the good work next Christmas.  Thank you, girls!  March 2011! This month we extend the title of Member of the Month to the_gloaming09. He has been an important part of the World of Music section, actively promoting various bands/artists. In addition, he has provided a central source for fellow forum members’ music with the Your Music thread. And of course, his devotion with hosting music broadcasts via his Listening Party thread has not gone unnoticed. Thank you the_gloaming09! April 2011 It's April already and time for a new MOTM! This month we'd like to say thanks to Julie (jbarry5503) for all her contributions to the board. She's an active member for over 5 years already and never fails to make all of us - but especially Ian - happy with her banners for the website. Julie and her family had to bear the loss of little Ryan who was a Coldplay fan at her young age already. As one way to cope with the loss they started a project called Ryan's Mini Adventure, which you can read about here. Thank you, Julie! Love from coldplaying.  May 2011 Can you believe it's May already? You know what that means... a new Member of the Month! And for the month of May the honor goes to... Briggins! As a member of Coldplaying for more than 6 years, Briggins has made many contributions to the board, particularly in the World of Music section; most recently with organizing the 30 Day Song Challenge. And the ever-so-helpful Band Index can be credited to him. And the Band/Week Organizing Thread. Maybe he invented the wheel too, and he's just being humble by not telling us? We know that he certainly won't disappoint with the Coldplay cover(s) he plans to do as a 'thank you' for the votes he received from members here for his music blog The Broken Speaker. His site made it into the Top 10 Music Sites in Canada; we are so proud to have him as a member of Coldplaying! Please join us in congratulating Briggins as Member of the Month for May. June 2011 June does not only have one member of the month, no, it has two! We would like to say thank you to EmmaLouiseSmyth and Braddock for their wonderful idea to create a Coldplaying Scrapbook. The idea was to send a book from Coldplayer to Coldplayer. Every person had their very own page to write stories, add pictures or simply draw on. Take a look at the thread to see what the participants did with their pages. Although the book has been lost in the mail, it still travelled a few thousand miles and reached 7 different Coldplayers before vanishing. Here's to Emma and Greg and the lost Scrapbook! Let's hope that the new one will reach even more Coldplayers! July 2011 Hello everyone! This month we're even having three MsOTM for their commitment in the Multimedia section. coldplaykb found the instrumental versions of Coldplay songs and posted about them here. In the following days a group effort was made to buy them. Especially joecortazzo and LoserJBo helped with that. Thank you! Those three have been picked by us for July, but we'd also like to say a humongous 'thank you' to all of you members who contributed to the Multimedia section by recording live broadcasts, interviews and whatever else you can find in there over the years. We really appreciate all of your efforts. August 2011! This month we extend the title of Member of the Month to Cobalt. She helped to organize the LRLRL exchange, and is a representative for everyone who participated and gave away their spare copy LRLRL. This project brought forth a strong sense of community and sharing on the forum, and everyone who received a copy of LRLRL is grateful. Thank you Cobalt! September 2011! This month we extend the title of Member of the Month to _Tash. She is always keeping the forum updated with information from the band's website, including Oracle Q&As, Roadie #42 blogs and other news, as well us the band's twitter. She helps to keep Coldplaying your one-stop source for all things Coldplay.  Thank you _Tash! October 2011! This month we would like to acknowledge the joint effort of THREE members! October's Members of the Month are Hartroc, Twisted_Mind, and Pai. While the release of Paradise brought a wide range of opinions from members, Hartroc (who really likes Paradise) was able to bring some fun to it all by writing lyrics to the lighthearted parody "Parachutes 2.0". Also, Pai was brave enough to lend her lovely voice for all the world to hear, and Twisted_Mind provided the amusing background images for the video. This project helped bring together people who like Paradise with those who aren't as fond of it... in Coldplaying unity! Thank you again Hartroc, Twisted_Mind, and Pai! November 2011! A fresh month brings fresh yellow members! In November we would like to thank jeremyy and ApproximatelyInfinite for their contributions to the board. jeremyy helped us immensely all throughout the festival season with keeping her 2011 Live Shows Online thread up to date and therefore made it the perfect place to check when and where to follow the next live broadcast. ApproximatelyInfinite's calendar for the month of October gave us all a handy overview and brought some order into the flood of events. Thank you both! December 2011! Guess who will be all yellow in white wintery December?  We are so happy to extend a heartfelt thank you and congratulations to the recipient of our last grand finale MOTM for 2011 to: Christa42! Christa has been a Coldplaying member since 2006. With her enthusiasm and generosity, she has helped out countless of other Coldplaying members by letting them stay at her house to attend Coldplay concerts. (Read: Her house is even called Hotel Christa by some Coldplayers!) Apart from that, she secured a number of VIP tickets for The Today Show for a bunch of other Coldplayers. Nonetheless, the most influential vibe she had brought is obviously pioneering the notion of Coldplay Karma by, for example, sending Coldplay confetti worldwide, especially to those who couldn't get them in their country. And so many other little things; sending serveral people "karma" necklaces, carrying the flag/banner at Lollapalooza that some of the French fans sent her, sending butterfly cupcakes, CDs... too many things to mention! Again, thank you for being awesome, Christa! January 2012! The MOTM award will continue in 2012, Happy New Year everyone! The first 2 people we want to say a special thanks to in 2012 are TracieMorgan and zzz for the effort they put into the coldplaying shop, have a look at the thread here, get the stuff here! Additionally, zzz has provided us with lots of download links in the Multimedia section over the last few weeks. A large thank you goes out to zzz and everyone else who helped in there. Thank you TracieMorgan and zzz! February 2012! This month we extend the title of Member of the Month to Space Cadet. She has been an important part of the World of Music forum, organizing the Albums of the Year for the past 5 years! Her contributions help to emphasize the diversity of Coldplayers' taste in music. Thank you Space Cadet! March 2012! For the month of March, we would like to Thank Lore for the original idea of Postcards From Far Away Project. The project was inspired by the song Postcards From Far Away of the Prospekt's March EP in 2008. Fans across the World created their own postcards and voted for the postcard logo to thank the band. This was the outcome of the project and surprise for Coldplay and for the fans as well!  Again, Thank you Lore! Also, thank you to everyone who participated and helped made this project  April 2012 Good evening everyone! April's MOTM title goes to AerodynamiX for the extensive work he put into creating the Singles, Promos and EPs thread. It's become a cherished place for all members on the lookout for B-sides. One stop to get them all, neatly organised on top. Thank you, AerodynamiX! May 2012 Our competition has ended and we have a winner! Congrats to phantoneku for being the champion of Pappas Pizza and therefore becoming MOTM in the Month Of May, in the Month Of May! We'd also like to inform you that our beloved and addictive Arcade is back for the joy of all our gamers out there! We'll be adding new games soon so if you have any request please let us know in the Arcade thread. June 2012 This month we'd like to acknowledge PrincessofChina's entertaining captions in the Chris thread. She posts amazing pictures and provides them with very funny comments. For example this post. Thanks Ellen, keep them coming! July 2012 This month we would like to say thank you to two members for their continuous efforts to supply Coldplaying's own musicians with tabs! MosesTheMarshmallow and Zergio107 have enriched the Instrument Room with various Coldplay tabs from Yellow to Don't Let It Break Your Heart. If you haven't been to the Instrument Room yet, go and check it out.  Starting August, we would also like to invite all members to suggest MOTM-worthy contributions. Further announcements will follow! August 2012 It's a new day, it's a new month, it's a new MOTM, and we're feeeeeeling good! This month we'd like to acknowledge the talent and help that Thalia contributes to coldplaying.com. She's won several of the awards in the past and if you've seen her stunning (and sometimes creepy) avatars and signatures - you know why! Thalia has created the Coldplay photomontages thread almost immediately after joining and is impressing members with her creations ever since. Have a look if you haven't discovered it yet! Furthermore she's helping in the Multimedia section by recording interviews and helping to keep downloads available. Thank you, Thalia! September 2012 Oops, where did the time go? We must have missed the beginning of the new month while we were enjoying the sun and following the Live Blog from Paris!! "One day the sun will come out"... It took its time this summer! In September we'd like to put the spotlight that is MOTM on Comicforce and Prospector. The banners they create for our website are very much appreciated and show both their talent and commitment to the fan community. Thank you! October 2012 This month we'd like to acknowledge nancyk58 for her contributions in the Live section. In particular, she has translated numerous concert reviews from non-English news sources. Just a few examples are from the Leipzig, Hannover, and Prague shows. Thank you Nancy! November 2012 It's November! It's a very exciting month for all Coldplaying members around the World. As many of you know, Coldplay will be releasing their second concert Live 2012 DVD on November 19, 2012. (It's been a long time waiting!  ) For MOTM for November, we would like to congratulate edward_kingdom (who has been a Coldplaying member since 2005  ) for informing us that Coldplay's Live 2012 DVD will be premiering at the cinemas November 13! Just a few days until then, don't miss your chance to see it!We would also like to thank him for sharing with us his Coldplay adventures (lucky you!) Congrats, edward_kingdom! You are MOTM for November 2012! Woot! Woot!

Hello everyone!
Most of you are probably wondering who I am but as Anna says, I'm mostly to be found in the Multimedia section. I just want to say Thank You to Anna and all the mods for thinking of me. I'm sure there must be more deserving candidates, so to be first is a real honour. I think 2011 is going to be a busy year for Coldplay fans, so I wish you all the best for the year ahead and I'll do my best to live up to Anna's glowing commendation and post lots more audio and video clips. Happy New Year to you all! |
