I saw this on CNN. Simply disgusting. They refuse to sell porn which is between consenting adults, but they are okay with something of this nature? It's the most despicable act a human being can commit and they are promoting it.
This book tells pedophiles how to get away with molestation and/or make it so if they are caught how their sentence won't be bad.

Whatever the problem is, I always enjoy watching it get solved before 9pm. |

a book promoting pedophilia?
...that's really disturbing.3 things I don't get... 1. Who would write a book on a topic like this? 2. What kind of publisher would actually approve to get this made? 3. Why would amazon agree to sell it? ...talk about a bunch of sick mofos all around |

Quote: I followed this thing all day. The book was an independent author that placed it for sale digitally through Amazon. Amazon assumes the publisher role, and claims a percentage of the profits. The author did an interview, and admitted to having pedophelia desires but claims he's never acted upon them. He wrote the book so the general public would better understand pedophiles. (I stomached excerpts...completely disgusting and creepy). It was brought to Amazons attention, but they hid behind the word 'censorship,' claiming it is the discetion of the buyer what is purchased. Of course, they don't sell pornography between consenting adults, as they deem it objectionable... Long-short, after enduring hours of mass hysteria generated by their customers and the global media, Amazon finally killed the link to that piece of trash. Last I saw, there were 2700 comments on the book, a handful of FB pages w/ 900-9000 members each and hundreds of twitter feeds about this debacle. Sounds like Amazon best get their damage control game going, esp heading into the holiday season. |

...and I won't go into detail, but the material I did read was very explicit, reading as a "how to" and offering tips. Very reprehensible.

Row over Amazon sales of paedophile advice guide
self-published guide giving advice to paedophiles that was on sale through online retailer Amazon is stirring up controversy, with some threatening to boycott the website. The Pedophile's Guide to Love and Pleasure: a Child-lover's Code of Conduct has now been removed from sale. But Amazon had defended the listing, saying it did not promote criminal acts but also avoided censorship. Amazon allows authors to submit their own books and shares revenue with them. Before authors are able to sell a work on the site, they are asked to read a set of guidelines, which bans offensive materials. But Amazon does not specifically state on its website what material it deems offensive, instead saying "probably what you would expect". Boycott threat In recent hours the book listing appears to have been removed from the Amazon website. But there has been no response yet to BBC requests for a statement from the retailer. It had previously adopted a defiant posture, saying in a statement: "Amazon believes it is censorship not to sell certain books simply because we or others believe their message is objectionable. "Amazon does not support or promote hatred or criminal acts, however, we do support the right of every individual to make their own purchasing decisions." The author, listed as Philip R Greaves II, argues that paedophiles are misunderstood and purports to offer advice to help them abide by the law. Individuals on the micro-blogging website Twitter have asked Amazon to remove the book from its site, while some are threatening to boycott the retailer. One Amazon user posted a comment on the site, saying that "to see a book like this on Amazon's 'shelves', so to speak, is very troubling to me". The title is being sold for the Kindle electronic reader. self-published guide giving advice to paedophiles that was on sale through online retailer Amazon is stirring up controversy, with some threatening to boycott the website. This is extremely disturbing, to say the least.

Why is everyone freaking out so much, I don't think I care at all... Amazon publishes books for people that want their books published. The censorship argument is a good one, except for their refusal to publish pornography, which makes them hypocritical obv. and that isn't good.
It isn't like reading this book is going to make people go raping children. People will buy it for the shock value, I imagine. I do think it's totally weird though, who would write something like that thinking it would get published? And I personally object to it, but I believe Amazon has the right to publish it if they so choose.
