Is there rape in the animal kingdom?

Do animals other than humans force sex upon unwilling partners? It seems like they probably would and have no reservations about it, but Animal Planet wants to portray a clean image so they make all animal sex seem consensual. I must get to the bottom of this.

It's probably because it's American, in fact most animal sex is rape.

Cats are pretty brutal about it.

You can tell if animals are depressed. I wonder if it's just an accepted part of nature, or if animals can be negatively affected by it.

We had a discussion like this some months ago in a biology class...

Rape where one part just does it for the pleasure has not been scientifically proved but sexual caniballism and necrophilia has been documented in arachnids for example, but those cases often has something to do with reproduction and not pleasure.

That's roughly what my biologic teacher said

Well of course it's not for pleasure...it's still rape though.

It's only us and Dolphins who have sex without the aim of reproducing.

They'd struggle to do that, unless it was a gang effort because they usually need a 3rd dolphin to help out
