The girl has officially made me a fan. She changed up the melody a bit drastically and slowed it down a little too much for my tastes, but her vocals were lovely and filled with palpable emotion, and I actually wasn't aware that she could tickle the ivories until this evening. I underestimated this gal.

"I liked that you were playing guitar," Ellen accidentally said, proving once again she's no musical expert, though she quickly blamed her error on sleepiness induced by Katelyn's too-slow cover.

Kara was less sleepy, raving, "I kind of love you...you're seriously good." Simon declared it "a million times better than last week"--a big compliment, since last week actually was pretty good--and told her she'd put herself back in the game.

It was alright...she looked like she had to sneeze, was possibly lost in the lyrics or in pain during most of the performance. In my opinion, there are just certain groups whose songs shouldn't be replicated or performed by anyone other than the band itself (ie. The Beatles, Coldplay). But that's just me...it was just meh.

I now know why I do not watch American Idol! There are some songs that contestants shouldn't try and sing. I refuse to drink the American Idol Koolaid!
