Ofcourse there are real coldplay fans that aren't on this website, but at least we know the people on here are real fans. For people that aren't on the website we can't really do much and there will also be non Coldplay fans wanting to buy that stuff. So this way we know for sure it will go to Coldplay fans ^^
We're not more real or anything like that than fans that are no member of this website

I think Ian was on to something when he mentioned tickets.
- Only Coldplayers who contribute money would have a chance at winning (assuming an auction is won)
- To contribute, you would purchase tickets at a set price (for example $5 or the equivalent in your respective currency). You could purchase as many tickets as you want for that price.
- so, those who contribute more would have more tickets in the drawing, and would thus have a better chance at winning.

Still doesn't solve the problem of who would handle all the money and the drawing, etc., but something like that might work.

But wouldn´t this mean that if one is quite rich , one could buy like 100 tickets and thereby almost ensure a winning? That would definitely give the best odds to the richest coldplayer, rather than giving equal odds to everyone. Maybe a max number of tickets that can be purchased should be introduced in the rules?

This is my thought exactly. I think it should just be one ticket/entry per person. That way everyone has the same chance.
And if we go with more than one per person, I'd like to see a max number too.

Here's a suggestion...
I know that the guitar/ piano / jacket is the coolest things ever, and I wish I could
buy it/ win it too.... but what if we go fore smaller things... more things...
Then maybe we can bit on a lot of posters, instead of one guitar fx...
Then in a followed competition/lottery more than one Coldplayer can win something?

This is a good idea, but like someone said, the drawing should be done with someone not participating.
Trying to buy more than one item sounds good to me. I totally want a guitar or the globe, but I would be just as happy with a signed poster

And about the money: 10 euros/dollars/pounds is good for me.
I don't think we should be going lower than 5 though, I'm afraid we won't have enough with that.

Wow, I love this idea.
About tickets... I think that you should be able to buy more than one ticket - but still only have one place in the raffle. This will up the amount we have to spend/give to charity.

Anyway, I don't know how we'll solve the drawing problem (maybe we should ask the oracle )
but I'm in!

If I can help with anything, I'm glad too!

Great idea I would definitely support: several tickets but only one place in the raffle. That would allow those who can contribute more to do so, while keeping the odds even.

Does anyone know or have a computer program that can randomly pick the winner?

The idea about buying more than one item at lower prices is a good idea.

If this takes shape and can be organised then I'm definitely in

I think the draws should be done via uStream webcast just like the album awards last night!

No, I don't think anyone who's buying more tickets should have a better chance at winning! That's very unfair. It would destroy the entire idea. This idea was, in the beginning, all about that people with less money should have a chance to win!

But what if we win anything - you need to give an address to send it to. What address do we give? That from the person who keeps the money? And who pays for the shipping costs then to send it to the winner of CPing? Or do we select a winner before the bidding ends?

We select a winner after the bidding ends.. right?

If there'll be any money left after the bidding, I think we'll pay the shipping costs with that?
If not, the winner will have to pay the shipping

Just my thoughts
