Well personally I don't agree that 2£/$/euros is enough, or that 200 people are ready and willing to do this either...

I know as Ian has pointed out he will not be able to sort this out personally, but who can, and who can we trust?? I know it sounds silly but it has to be someone who is a real reguler on here, and someone people have met for real and can vouch-for.

And yeh, per ticket I suppose would be the way to do it, and people could be given a ticket number, and it can be done just like a raffle of course.

The main issue seams to be how we would handle and record the actual transaction of paying our ticket price........?

I think everyone should give 2 pounds or at least something in 1 sort and a determined number. It is true that people in America than have to give 4$ but then again if they have to buy a poster from the Decade Sale then they have to pay double too because the price given is in pounds ( I think) and 2 pounds is more for people whom have less money too so it get's really difficult if we take such things in account.
But I don't really know what the best way of doing this is =/

Yes handling money is the main issue! I could do it but I don't think I'm the right person for it.

And my example of 4 dollars each was just taken from the air, 10 dollars would be more realistic. I think we should do a vote on how much people is willing to pay for a ticket.

1£ is more or less 1,11€ and 1£ is 1,62$

Any way I thing that 2£ are not a lot ... but I even think that the bids should be as free as possible. I mean we can donate 3/2£ OR MORE.

400£ for a guitar wouldn't be enought, but why don't try for the Globe?

In my opinion it's necessary to have a PayPal and/or eBay account and to transfert everything on a single account, menaged by one/two of us. The problem is find the person, that everyone trust, who has time to do it .......

^^^ Well there has been no actual desicion made to say it will be a guitar i must point out.

And yeh, someone with a paypal account is needed, and to mirror william3000, (sorry I don't know your real name, unless it's william of course lol :s ) I could do it, but again its a decent responsibility and having only posted 100 times on here, there isn't enough of a reason to trust me with all this!! Therefore, I probably wouldn't feel comfortable doing it.

If everyone put in £5 or the equivalent, and we somehow managed to get perhaps 500 people, which is a stretch I know, then it would be around £2500, which could mean we buy 3 items perhaps and have two-runners up prizes?? Just a suggestion but I'm sorry for over-complicating it already!!

That would be the dream scenario, though we are kind of stuck i the loop about who should take care about the money stuff...

The question is if we should wait until prices and stuff clears up or if we should just get this thing going as soon as possible.

I LOVE THIS IDEA!

I don't think $4 each would be enough though.

If we each pay $10 dollars and 200 of us enter, thats $2000 which seems like a good amount. Don't think we could get the jacket or any of the instruments though.

Will there be enough time to organise this?

Good idea from Nancy and William.. Brilliant
I would definatly like to sign up to bid on the things with you and be a part of the competition/Lottery

Two questions:
1.) Where do I sign up and to who?
2.) How much money should each pay to take part.. what do you think William..?
I will suggest 10 £.. it is a bit more than 10 $, maybe high enough that we will get a chance, and to bid on the things you must bid in pund, right?

One verse of Wedding bells, written by Coldplay:
Those wedding bells are ringing up upon that hill
I don't want to swallow such a bitter pill
You keep moving baby, I stay still
I always loved you and I always will
La La La La, La La La La
.. and everything that went before doesn't matter
La La La La, La La La La
I always loved you and I always will

My suggestion to a continuation:
Those wedding bells are ringing, but baby I stay
Sadly you and me just got so far away
Oh, though our time is back in the past
my love for you dear, it will always last
La La La La..

Those wedding bells are ringing, and baby you go
Honey, I'll still stay here as you left me so
I will stay and look back to the start
You will always have a place in my heart
La La La La...

Those wedding bells are ringing, babe I hear the tweet
The sound of them makes me feel so bittersweet
Your feet will move while I stay in place
My love for you dear, it's a living space
La La La La..

Well, we have until thursday to sort something substantial out, though these problems aren't just gonna disappear, maybe more interest could be generated.

I think 10 pounds is okay. I hope lots of people will enter! Maybe we should say that everyone should give 10 pounds but you CAN give more if you want but it WON'T give you more chance of winning.

Maybe we should wait for the list of things before we decide what we are going for.

I would love to be able to help out with the banking and bidding, but unfortunately I have so little free time at the moment, and can only get online at odd moments

Personally I think £2 is far too little to have a chance of winning anything. I would say at least £5, but not too much more, because otherwise that is a very large amount of money for people living in countries with weak exchange rates.

I also think it's a nice idea if everyone has an equal chance to win, even if one or two very rich members did decide to contribute more just to boost the chance of winning

I'd give 10 dollars (I'm American)
And this is totally a great idea, we just need an address to send the money to and a treasurer for all of it

This is SUCH A GREAT IDEA.

If everyone gave at least 10 pounds I'm sure it'll work out, not for the guitars and jackets of course, but maybe some posters?
Anyone who wants should be able to give more than 10, but not have a bigger chance of winning. That would go against the whole concept of this idea..

And who would do the raffle thing? It must be someone we can trust. People would cheat to win these items.

And one more thing. We must make sure no one makes multiple coldplaying accounts just to have a bigger chance of winning. I don't know how but maybe if we set up a certain number of posts to have to be able to participate?
