I seriously hope they continue witht the "stripped-down" album idea, it would be amazing if they did that next time

As for this ^ it would be a gigantic pain in the ass to get tixx, but so worth it

this is complete dejavu of the lead up to the last album, the church, the so-called 'stripped down' approach etc.

I'm guessing that this story is at least half true.

Given that their creative juices were gushing while they were on tour, it wouldn't surprise me if they are able to crank out a new album by the end of 2010. I'm not going to get my hopes up too much about a 2010 release, but again, I wouldn't be totally surprised. Yay!

I'm just a little unsure of the 'smaller venues' thing. If they are concerned about "being seen as a huge stadium act and totally inaccessible for their loyal fans", it seems if the venue is TOO small, it would have the opposite effect (not enough tickets to go around). The point is, we don't really know what to make of 'small', since size is relative. Considering the end of the VLV tour in Europe, with 30,000-40,000 (I'm guessing) in attendance at stadiums, a venue of about 10,000 could be considered 'small', in relative terms. Although it would be awesome to be in attendance of a really small intimate gig, like the upcoming one in Exeter, there would be too much disappointment in regard to the lack of tickets. Plus, if they want to have a chance of making a profit or just breaking even, it would still have to be a decent size. During the second leg of the U.S. tour, the 'shed' gigs averaged around 10,000 people, and the format was more intimate than the first leg of the tour with the arenas. 'Shed' gigs are not too big, not too small, not a bad seat in the house, and enough tickets to go around.

Sounds fantastic. Now we wait to see which parts are fact and which parts are fiction!

Chris is determined not to be seen as a huge commercial rock juggernaut, filling stadiums and cashing in. This is the plan to keep them as close to their fans as possible

& this is why they're one of the best out there, in addition to their amazing work. I don't think i've ever been to a concert where I've felt that much like the band gave a crap about everyone in the stadium. except for maybe the goo goo dolls...but really. Coldplay FTW

That.

That's the first thing I thought of when I attended a recent concert from a different artist... Bruce Springsteen. Yeah, I was at THE concert where Bruce called out 'Hello, Ohio' instead of Michigan. I immediately thought of how Coldplay actually takes the time before the concert to learn about what's happening in the area where they are performing, local customs, etc., in an effort to be more in touch with the crowd.

Wait...so I guess we can't expect a huge world tour? That means they definitely won't come to where I live

You could just buy tickets to the nearest (or not-so-nearest) concert location and plan a nice little vacation around it. Maybe you could take a vacation to beautiful Michigan... we love Canadians! I even work with a guy who crosses the border every day.

Best early Chris-mas present ever!

(Unless the boys release Christmas Lights as a single)

One verse of Wedding bells, written by Coldplay:
Those wedding bells are ringing up upon that hill
I don't want to swallow such a bitter pill
You keep moving baby, I stay still
I always loved you and I always will
La La La La, La La La La
.. and everything that went before doesn't matter
La La La La, La La La La
I always loved you and I always will

My suggestion to a continuation:
Those wedding bells are ringing, but baby I stay
Sadly you and me just got so far away
Oh, though our time is back in the past
my love for you dear, it will always last
La La La La..

Those wedding bells are ringing, and baby you go
Honey, I'll still stay here as you left me so
I will stay and look back to the start
You will always have a place in my heart
La La La La...

Those wedding bells are ringing, babe I hear the tweet
The sound of them makes me feel so bittersweet
Your feet will move while I stay in place
My love for you dear, it's a living space
La La La La..
