Bringing the deadline for voting forward

Right, what would say if I suggested that due to the sheer number of votes cast so far in the first stage that I bring the deadline forward a few days from the 28th October to the 23rd October, allowing the short-lists to be posted a week earlier than planned, giving you an extra week of campaigning before voting opens on the 31st of the month?

Yay or nay, or do you have any other ideas

The big deal is that this is made such a big deal of on the board by the person/people who run it! Really, do we need new topics every couple of days debating whether or not the deadline for votes is correct, whether the categories are correct? Etc etc etc?? I think not.

I've voted but I'm sick of this nonsense clogging up the forum. The schedule was set, so stick with it. Damn it, you've had four or five years to practise how to do it, right? So stop spamming with inconsequential changes!!

Tonsu, I agree and disagree. Disagree on the four/five years to practice, because this year is the first year we've had a stage voting system. Before we just had "send votes in to Awards account" and you could win with over 7 votes or something. Because we have larger turnout this year it had to be organized differently, thus the mistakes and bugs.

However, I agree on some parts - we didn't really get a chance to discuss whether to use the new voting system, due to the awards being so abysmally and inexplicably late this year. There doesn't seem to be that much chatter about it from members apart from people going "VOTE FOR ME VOTE FOR THIS". I mean, it'd be nice to talk about candidates and people you've thought really deserved it, right? That's what was happening a bit more last year.

This year it seems to be mainly Kite and the admins blathering on about it and "LOOK PRIZE MONIES" which I really think also should have been discussed before it was pushed upon us.

To summarize: NEW SYSTEM, NOT DISCUSSED BY MEMBERS, MOAR DISCUSSION NEEDED NEXT TIME!
