Indeed. How much would it cost to overthrow the government? Right now the risks outweigh the costs, but I'm confident that equation will shift in the medium to long-term future.
I think the key is to emphasize the importance of NOT participating in electoral politics. Already a majority of Americans who are eligible to vote don't bother, because they're not interested in imposing their will on others. The idea that all children should want to grow up to be President of the United States has led to a massive surplus of liberal-arts students who know nothing practical but can name all the inner workings of this massive bureaucratic mafia we call a government. Our industrial competitive advantage is gone, the only thing we know how to do is print more money.
