The Last Shadow Puppets

The Last Shadow Puppets are a side project of Alex Turner's (Arctic Monkeys) and Miles Kane (The Rascals; ex-Little Flames).

the album ("The Age Of The Understatement) is will be released on April 21 and their first single, which is also called "The Age Of The Understatement" will be released on April 14.

there's something james bond-ish about the video.
i quite like it and i'm very curious to listen to a few other songs.

and alex and miles make a good team. they look like twins.

I'm liking The Age Of The Understatement and there's a live version of it on youtube which sounds even better imo

3 or 4 other live tracks from the album are on youtube too if you just do a search.

WOW.

I wasn't that interested- guess I was expecting Arctic Monkeys part 2. Figured I'd listen eventually. Eventually came yesterday.

What I was not expecting was a 60s-ish James Bond style epic. It's brilliant! This is the sort of music that I've been complaining for years now that no one makes anymore. Did I mention wow?

ooh... and they had Final Fantasy (Owen Pallett) do all the strings too!

Definitely a contender for best album of the year.

I prefer this to Arctic Monkeys myself.

Oh, and I saw The Rascals live yesterday and they were pretty good as well.
Miles Kane has a bigger influence than Alex Turner on this record I think, judging by his band's songs.

In Rainbows 9.5/10 The Last Shadow Puppets / ST 8/10 Accelerate Silent Cry / Feeder 7/10 Viva la vida 9.5/10 Forth / The Verve 8.5/10 Ode to J.Smith / Travis 7/10 Perfect Symmetry / Keane Dig out your soul / Oasis 8/10 A hundred million suns / Snow Patrol 6/10 Should be a good year. The best bands ever are Coldplay, Radiohead, Manic Street Preachers, R.E.M, Blur and Muse.
