If this guy thought his song had been copied - legitimately copied - then he would have filed this lawsuit the second the song hit the airwaves. The song isn't the issue here. He is after the money.

Ale is right. If Viva had bombed, this wouldn't be happening.

you can't deny it looks like it, but i think the law sue is just because he's kind of jealous of the succes of the song.
and if you listen to the full song, it's pretty clear that it's just parts of the song that sound alike.

The YT video, which I have seen before, has been modified to make the boys look bad. The Viva bit's sound has been changed (the song itself), just listen to Chris's voice, ffs, it sounds like he's My Chemical Romance or something, don't fall for this garbage.

I agree with you. It's really hard to define plagiarism nowadays.

Just hope they can find the truth but I belive that this plagiarism thing is not true.

Th question I ask is not only why would Coldplay does this, but would Brian Eno?? Remember this guy was in the studio with them constantly. He's one of the most well known rock producers. you think he HE would let something like this go? I doubt it.

What worriest me is how this will hamper the song's chances of getting the Grammy awards. Voters dont usually vote for the song that has garnered controversy and plagiarism accusations.

If VLV won the award it would probably garner even more accusations, and make the voters look bad, which i'm sure they'll definitely give up quality to please the masses
