As they head back to the studio that morning, Chris and Will greet Jonny and Guy inside.

Chris: We have this stupid shit song to play for you, has no meaning whats so ever, but I think it could be a start. Chris sits at the piano and starts to sing. When the song is done, Jonny and Guy look at each other and laugh "What the hell?" Guy say's. Jonny replied "Whats Yellow?"
Chris: It just came to Will and I and we have no idea what it means.
Guy: Well it's silly.

Will smoking in the back just sat back and looked at Chris smiling........

To this day,Chris still tells reporters he has no idea what the song is about, so everytime you hear it, you will now know the real truth behind this song.

I wasn’t sure how to react to the strange scene that had just unfolded before me. I admit, I’d found it hilarious...until Chris got really upset. Then I was just confused, and somewhat nervous. My weak attempts to keep the peace failed, and he ended up stalking off.

I looked sideways at Guy and winced; the poor kid was practically shaking. “Wow...that was...”

“Whatever.” interrupted Guy, wrapping his arms around his knees.

“Yeah, you were good though. He is pretty hands-on, isn’t he?” I smiled despite myself.

“I didn’t mean to insult him or anything.” Guy said quickly, defending himself. I didn’t know why he was bothering with that; I knew he hadn’t meant any harm.

“I know.” I assured Guy, glancing at him again. I held out the plate of fries, but he shook his head.

“No, thanks.”

“You sure? You didn’t eat anything.”

He shrugged, pulling himself up from the ground. “I’m not hungry, sorry...” he muttered offhandedly. “I’ll see you, Will.”

“Yeah, sure...” I said cautiously as he walked away. I watched him until he disappeared through the nearest door, and then groaned. I grabbed the plate of fries and dumped it in the trash, having lost my appetite.

I went through the rest of the day without dwelling on the strange incident...until I met Chris in the hallway. He greeted me cheerfully enough; he wasn’t sulking or moping. He only seemed a little more subdued than usual. “Hey.” he said.

“Hey...” I responded cautiously.

“I’m sorry, mate...” he mumbled hurriedly.

“Why are you apologizing to me?”

He shrugged and looked at the wall. I continued, “Guy’s worried he’s upset you, so you might want to talk to him.”

“Okay, okay!” he said, holding up his hands in defeat. “It’s just...” I was horrified to see the beginnings of tears in his eyes. “Never mind...”

“What?” I pressed. “What are you trying to say?”

“God, I don’t know, okay? I’m just afraid that he’s right.”

“Right about what?” I asked, thoroughly confused. But I could see Chris wasn’t going to answer me. He looked horrified, as if he’d said something terrible he wasn’t supposed to. “Chris, what...?” By the time I got the word out, he’d already sprinted halfway down the hall, and was showing no signs of slowing down.

Since it was the end of the day, I took a risk and followed him. I dumped my stuff on the ground and took off. Chris led me out the doors and behind the school, clambering over the fence to the football field. I wondered why the hell he was running so far, but then I realized it was probably because I was chasing him. Yes, that made sense.

I ran around the fence instead of hopping it, and I caught up with him when he leaped over a fallen log and skidded to a sudden halt. We had reached the small stream that ran into the woods behind the school. I had a feeling Chris would have swam the thing if I hadn’t grabbed onto his jacket and hauled him back. “Let go! Let go of me!” he screeched, clawing at the bark of a nearby tree.

“Why are you running?” I demanded.

“Why the fuck are you running after me?” he cried.

“What’s wrong with you?”

“I’m not the one who chased me into the bloody woods!” he groaned.

“Yeah, well I’m not the one who keeps freaking out, am I?”

Chris let out a moan of frustration, and without warning, he slid to the ground. “I’m tired.” he said simply. “I’m tired, Will.”

“Of what?” I snapped.

“Life. I hate it.” he muttered absently, leaning his head against the tree. I was scared; he was starting to freak me out. I didn’t know what to do.

“Are you okay?” I asked, not knowing what else to say.

He sniffed slightly and buried his head in his hands.

“Chris?” I asked cautiously, putting a hand on the tree.

“Let’s go back, yeah?” He wiped his eyes on his sleeve.

At the studio..... It's morning now and the events that took place last night have been forgotten now, Guy still feeling embarassed about the situation has comfort that his friends are not kidding him about it. Certainly not Chris who is in a fowl mood, AGAIN.
Will and Jonny are discussing a tempo for a new song, Guy strumming and half listening to them, and Chris is in a closet by himself. After an hour of playing around, Chris emerges from his solitude. Will looking at Chris realizes his friend, Chris is gonna explode, "Well if you can Fuck it up more so than me, have at it." Chris screams and jumps up and storms out the door.

Jonny and Guy shake their heads and Guy say's " He is so touchy lately, any little thing ticks him off." Will knows exactly what Chris needs.. Confidence in the love department, it's affecting his writing and his abilities to get along with everyone. The time is now to introduce him to his friend.

As Chris makes his way down the road, Will is trying to catch up to him, Chris crosses the road and a cab slams on his brakes and misses Chris by inches, Chris looks at the guy and shoots him his middle finger and calls him a ****! Chris rolled to the side and Lola had 1 more piece of advice. She told him that most women after making love like to be held and cuddled. Never just get up and leave. Spend some time cuddling, Chris smiles and lays his head on her chest and strokes her arm gently......

After proudly leaving Lola's a new man, Chris hurries to the flat, it's about 2am when he arrives home, and as he walks in the door, Will is waiting for him.
Will: So, how did it go?
Chris: She said I was fucking Amazing!!!! Listen, we have got to go back to that place we were the other night, where we were looking at the stars. I have the start of a song and you can help.
Will grabs his coat, "Yeah well I want details"Will say's, Chris grabs a sharpie and notebook and they head out.
When they get to their destination, they climb the wall and perch themselves on the rocks overlooking the city. Chris intently starts to write, with a great passion in his facial expressions. He say's "Listen"

look how they shine for you
and everything you do
yeah they were all yellow
I came along
I wrote a song for you
and all the things you do
and it was called yellow
so then I took my time
oh what a thing to have done
and it was called yellow

Chris: hows that?
Will: Good, but what does yellow have to do with it?

Chris: well looking at the stars and how they shine and they are yellow is about you and me sitting here, writing about it, smiling.

Chris: I came along and wrote a song for you, is about Lola, and all the things she did, and she taught me how to take my time. I have no idea about the word yellow, it is just a silly word I threw in there. (snickering to himself)
Chris stands up, "We need a catchy chorus tho."
Will sitting behind Chris say's "You know your so skinny, how do you stay so thin?"
Chris jokingly say's " Thin is beautiful"

Will grabs the pen, "How's this for the chorus?"

turning into something beautiful

Chris: I luv ya man, good job.
Will: You know I love you so, There chorus completed, Will laughs.

Chris laying back on the rocks looking at the stars, deep in thought scribbles more,

Will chimes in

They both fall back laughing, Will say's" I drew a way, a path for you in the direction of Lola"
They just can't stop laughing, wondering whether they should even show this to Jonny and Guy.
Chris: I know, the last chorus should be For you I'd bleed myself dry, instead of I love you so, cause that's how I feel about you, Will, I would bleed myself dry. Chris looking down all serious, Will looking down all serious, they finally look at each other and bust out laughing again, Will saying, "That's a good one", slapping Chris's arm.

Chris: Well it's a start on the right track again, this was fun. maybe if we put some music to it, it will sound better.

Will:You know this song sucks, the lyrics are horrible, I think we should just always keep the meaning of this song to ourselves, cause it is kinda silly.

Chris:Well it will never be a hit, never make it to the CD, but you and I know the song has meaning to us both......

As they head back to the studio that morning, Chris and Will greet Jonny and Guy inside.

Chris: We have this stupid shit song to play for you, has no meaning whats so ever, but I think it could be a start. Chris sits at the piano and starts to sing. When the song is done, Jonny and Guy look at each other and laugh "What the hell?" Guy say's. Jonny replied "Whats Yellow?"
Chris: It just came to Will and I and we have no idea what it means.
Guy: Well it's silly.

Will smoking in the back just sat back and looked at Chris smiling........

To this day,Chris still tells reporters he has no idea what the song is about, so everytime you hear it, you will now know the real truth behind this song.

*Jonny's POV*

I'm a little nervous but excited at the same time. It seems that Phil, CHris and Miss do this once a week thing where they all go out together. Chris is making me go because he can't make it and Miss isn't too close with Phil yet (as far as we know). I was pulling into the restaraunt when I noticed Miss looked very unusual. She was wearing a dress. A dress, not ripped jeans and a T-Shirt. She wore a slim black dress and a regular pair of heels. Her dress was beyond compare, it was perfect for her small body. She looked breath-taking. She stood next to Phil (or Phil stood next to her) and they looked like they were already having a good time. Phil looked the same as usual, and so did I. As I walked towards the pair, Miss ran up to me and squeezed metightly with one of her hugs.
"I missed you!" She said merrily. She gave me kiss upon my cheek and I couldn't help but smile. "I haven't seen you in ages!"

"It has been a while." I said softly to her.

I saw what Chris was talking about five minutes after the three of us sat down. Phil was definetly into Miss. He laughed extra merrily, gazed into her eyes, and sparkled like crazy. Well, almost every guy did that to Miss.

"Although we were late, we still had a good time. How was your day?" Phil asked us.

"Mine was great. Charlie, Lola and I walked to the park and we all got some ice cream. How was day Jonny?" She asked me."Mine was nothing unusual. All I did was go to rehersal." I told her.

"Maybe why Chris sent you here." Phil added.  He countinued to gaze into her brown eyes.As the night went on from there, the mood rose and rose. I've never seen Phil or Miss so happy. I don't think I've ever been so happy. Ever.

*Miss's POV*

When I got home, I slipped through the door seeing Guy cradling Lola, Charlie was asleep in his bed. He had school the next morning. Lola looked half asleep in Guy's arms. Sometimes I missed being with Guy, maybe I just wanted someone with me. At other times I knew I wanted to be with me. Guy looked up at me, realizing I'd entered the room.

"Oh it's just you..." He said as he lay Lola in her crib. "You've come back a little earlier than usual. Did something happen?" He asked.

"Nothing unusual, Jonny came this time though." I replied. "Nothing changed much."

"I have to leave." He said as he threw on his coat. He gave me a kiss on the cheek, a moment I wish I still had him. He slipped out the door, slowly closing it behind him. I sat down on my bed, seeming a little depressed, but I wasn't. I was only lonely. Just Lonely.

"Chris, don't touch that! You don't know what it does." Chris had reached out and touched one of the buttons on the wall of the room he and Jonny were in. It was a small room, not much bigger than Chris' cubicle at the office, and it was nearly empty except for a wall filled with buttons of various colors and shapes and a plastic chair in the corner.

"Relax, mate. These guys are intelligent, intergalactic beings. Do you think they'd put us in here and not tell us not to touch anything if we weren't allowed to touch things?"

Jonny stared at Chris for a moment before replying, "I'm not quite sure what you just said, but I'm gonna say yes." Chris laughed, and Jonny continued, "Although that could be a bad idea, seeing as the last time I said yes, I ended up on a spaceship. With you. And we're still here!" Chris turned around to face Jonny. As he opened his mouth to give a snarky reply, the door burst open and one of the workers on the spaceship entered the room.

"We're ready for you, Mr. Martin."

"Please, call me Chris."

"Uh, we're ready for you, Ch-Chr-Chri... Mr. Martin. Sorry." Chris smiled and muttered, "It's OK."

The alien gave a nervous chuckle and continued, "If you'll follow me, the lab is this way." The alien worker led Chris out of the tiny button-filled room, down the hallway, into another hallway, onto an elevator, up a few floors, out of the elevator into yet another hallway, and finally into a room with a door that was labeled "Lab".

Chris was surprised when he walked in the doorway to find that, like the other room, it was also almost completely empty. He had watched hundreds of sci-fi movies and shows, and he expected there to be weird foreign substances in jars and containers filled with people hanging upside-down. Yet, this room was nothing like that; the only weird thing Chris could see was Retaw.

"Hello, Chris Martin. Welcome to the lab." Retaw smiled at Chris and pulled him into the room. "I know it doesn't look like there's much in here, but our technology is far more advanced than yours. No offense."

"Uh, none taken."

"That's good. We need to run a few tests in order to make sure that you are well enough to help us, and also for fun."

"What? For fun?" Chris' eyes widened with horror. He feared that maybe not all sci-fi was really fiction. Could these aliens just want him to play with, like a doll? Was that all he was worth to them?

Retaw saw Chris' expression and told him reassuringly, "Oh, I didn't mean like that. You see, we have a test where you must, uh... what's the word? Um... ah, yes! Dance." Chris' face lit up when he heard this. He thought that his dancing was his best quality, and was quite proud of his variety of moves. Retaw continued, laughing, "Most of the earthlings we've tested look ridiculous dancing."

"Oh, well, not me. I'm great at it."

"Yeah, we've seen your internet videos," Retaw laughed, and Chris' smile almost immediately faded.

"No, I am great at it. Just ask Jonny, he'll vouch for me!"

"I don't think that's necessary. Now if you'll please step over here, Chris Martin, and remove your pants, we can begin the testing."

"Wha- uh... my trousers?"

"Yes, your 'trousers'. How else are we supposed to do the testing?"

"With my trousers on would be preferable."

"Oh, Chris Martin, you are truly amusing." Retaw smiled, and Chris realised that he was going to have to take off his pants whether or not he wanted to. Chris walked over to the spot Retaw had gestured to and began to undo the button on his fly.

"Can I at least keep my shirt on? I haven't worked out in ages."

i still have no idea where this story is going.
