Default A Problem with the VLVODAAHF Vinyl

EMI has fit all the songs on one vinyl. Nowadays, most artists put their full length album on 2 discs, 4 sides. The reason for that is because the closer you get to the center of the record - the worse it sounds. So because this was a short record, they could "technically" fit it all on one disc... but it means that they would have to come close to the center of the disc. And therefore, "Reign of Love" and "The Escapist" sound horrible.

Ideally, for quality reasons (not for economic reasons, ie. EMI) you would just limit each side to 3 songs, leaving at least 2-3 inchs from the center.

I guess you could say im picky with vinyls.

if you have good ears - you likely won't be too impressed.

on a stereo its okay... on headphones it was annoying.

i think it was printed as more of a novelty item and less a high quality version of the album.... unfortunetly.

at least it's 180 grams.

but if you were to ask me, would i have bought it if i knew? yes, absolutely. i love vinyl!

By that logic shouldn't singles suffer pretty badly then, since they're small?
I dunno I have some records that go in pretty close to the middle, I listen with good headphones, and don't notice anything. *shrug* Maybe it just makes it sound vinyl-y.

depends on the pressing... the quality of some actual vynils is a shame
i had the problem with The Killers 'Saw Dust' double LP, the sound became so shitty in the end of both discs that i stopped listenning to it
same with recent titles from many artists

the very end of the pressing is fucked up ....you can see it on the surface near the middle
it never happens with old pressings from Emi or Columbia witch sounds stellar on my stereo

tha only artits that i care a bit who still sort decent LPs in terms or SQ are Metallica, the re-pressings of their eighties LPS are awsome

that said the Japan pressings of VLV LP might sounds a bit better, quality of Japan releases has crossed ages
