There are a LOT of them near MSG, it might be hard to all meet at the same one!

Here are some in the area though:

#42 blogs from inside MSG

"Sleep satisfies" a friend of mine once said. He's not kidding! I arrived in NYC a couple of days ago and spent the entire day yesterday in bed. Refreshed and recharged, I roll into Madison Square Garden at 10am to find that things are looking in great shape. No surprise really, as there's been some very hard-working folks in here since midnight! Many of them are the new American sound, light and video crews who have never even seen this show, let alone put it together. Combine this with the pressure that a NYC show brings and you have to hand it to these guys - they've already done a great job.

The band are in at 2.30 for soundcheck, so I'd better get my skates on. I'll get back to you later.

AHHHHHHHHHHH. the last pic just made me lose it!!! LOL I've been pretty (relatively) calm until now. After failing at trying to get a nap, I just put the Live CD on, and with these pics....OMG

OK, so Starbucks...I'm coming in from NJ by PATH, so maybe Id go to the one on 31st&6th, might be good I think, if we try one of the ones RIGHT by/next to MSG it might be wayy to packed. Anyone???

I'm sure this is a long shot but does anyone happen to have an extra for tonight's show? I'm in town touring for my other favorite band and would LOVE to attend. Thanks in advance! I tried through the email lottery and didn't win......

I'm shooting for 7, but I still gotta hop in the shower & pick up my friend before heading into the city. Since someone up thread said the openers won't even start until 8, I figured I'd hang at Starbucks until right before that...

just to see..my last name starts with an L and my sections are 104 and 232...what about you guys?

I too have extra won tickets that I'm giving to friends. I called MSG and they said it really shouldn't be a problem if I'm there to flash my ID for them. He said it's impossible to check every ID in the building, it's mostly strict on will call.

to the ppl wanting to meet beforehand...the borders that's next to the garden is better. The sign is huge and the space in front is much larger than starbucks

Also, no one has an extra ticket? Anyone?

Sure no one has an extra? I'd love to video tape the show to share with the entire Coldplay community.

Also- is there an opening band?

Yes, I know no cameras are allowed but it's not tough to sneak 'em in (I've done it many times before)

i just got back from madison square garden and heard some of coldplay's soundcheck. these are some of the songs i caught them doing:

(not in any order)
in my place
god put a smile upon your face
lost!
lovers in japan
yes / chinese sleep chant
strawberry swing

i was ushered out before catching all of it.

and heard either johnny or chris play a bit of metallica's 'enter sandman' on guitar between songs.

I really hope their set is longer tonight. I don't see any point in another 17-song long concert. At this point in their career, especially since they very litterally ARE the biggest band in the entire world, (let's be honest...they are holding the top spots for both singles and albums in the two biggest music markets on planet Earth), they should be doing upwards of 23 songs a night. AT least they should be doing all of their biggest hits. I mean...Speed Of Sound and Talk missing from the lastest shows? That's appauling. I mean, of course I'd prefer to hear stuff like Spies, White Shadows, Warning Sign, etc...but at least all of their big hits should be included! Especially the ones from their last album.

So, in the end, I'm praying tonight they go all out. It's MSG for Christ's sake! Make it worth it!
