Question A Spell A Rebel Yell

not like i'm already sick of violet hill or anything... but having a new song is making me greedy so im already looking ahead to next week!

seeing as "A Spell A Rebel Yell" will only be on vinyl, will someone here still be able to post it up here? i'm not too technologically educated so basically im just wondering if it's possible to make a track on a vinyl into an mp3. plus i don't know if i will even be able to get the vinyl and EVEN IF I DO i dont have anything to play it with.

so basically... i just wanted to make sure someone here can put it up. feel free to also discuss expectations for our first VLVODAAHF b-side!

Why would you even want that song? It's going to be terrible! (Just kidding - sorry, I couldn't resist.)

The title makes it sound like it'll have a catchy tune, and a fast beat. I expect it to be very different sounding from Violet Hill.

And hopefully, it could indicate the diversity on the album we've yet to here. That, or it could represent a sound they tried to avoid on the album, therefor indicating what the album might NOT sound like. And now my head hurts.

oh my god, i can't believe we're going to do all of this again next week!! i think it'll be even MORE aggrivating, though, because we don't have a precise date and time to look forward to. basically, we're at the mercy of a) the royal mail and b) whichever coldplayer with a USB record player and a good heart gets it first. i'm thinking thursday it'll get up here in some form.

if i was going to get it on time and had a record player that could make it into an MP3 i would do it in a heartbeat, but alas, i only have a normal record player, and with me living in america, i'll be lucky to get the thing by the following week.

^Well, since I'll actually have the proper recording equipment this time, I'll be able to record it after first listen. And there wont be this whole problem with Audacity not saving things as an MP3 either. So yeah, hopefully thats sorted .

^the whole shabang cost me 11 pounds, or $22, and that's including the cheap method of shipping. i think $22 is TOTALLY worth it for coldplay, but i'm also kind of obsessed with records, so i'd do it anyway

Yeah, I should be able to rip it.
The only downside is that my record player doesn't play the records on a perfectly flat plane... what I mean to say is, the vinyl slants up and down ever so slightly when it spins, and the sharp ears of some of the people hear might be able to be a slight change of pitch every 2 seconds or so. I'm hoping this is a minor thing that wont cause people much grief, though. Its only a very slight thing anyway.

Of course I could try to use pitch bending software to my advantage to correct it, but i wont make any promises that it'll work.

But yes, look out for the link this time Tuesday

I hate to be the skeptic, but the title sounds a little cheesey to me...that whole Billy Idol thing, lol. I get the feeling the song may be humourous, like the Nappies or Ode...which would be fine with me. All I'm saying is I don't expect a pretty piano ballad, lol.
