In my opinion, Coldplay is the best band in the history of music, and I'll stand by that. They are so original and fan-friendly, and they connect with any listeners better than any band ever has. As for my friends calling them gay, so what? Not to sound like my immature friends, but most of the bands they listen to are punk and wear makeup.

The point is, it doesn't matter what other people say about Coldplay, the only thing that matters is that you like them. I agree with all the posts in saying "just ignore them and turn up the music".

BTW: It does piss me off too when people say certain bands suck when theyve never actually heard them. At least if I dont like a band, Ill say I respect the people who do, but I just have different tastes. Hey, I guess that's what being a Coldplay fan is all about.

i liked it how chris said right before they played violet hill for the very first time was that this album was for all the 16 yr olds in the playground who get teased and to show that it's ok to like coldplay

I pity people who cant see past narrow mindedness to see Coldplay for what they are, a truely talented and gifted band. Coldplay isnt depressing poeple who say that just dont appreciate good music. I know what you mean a lot of [shit is the polite word ]music gets out these days. eg that song mercy by duffy, american boy by estelle and the tons of other rubbish, everytime i hear them i feel like headbutting the radio out the window which happens a lot as those songs are the slags of radio, dont stop hearing them. Anyway i dont care what people think of Coldplay when i tell them, when people tell me they dont like Coldplay because there rubbish or whatever and like funky house and dance, rnb just feel like laughing because dance etc you couldnt really make worse music if you gave a instrument to a monkey.
At the end of the day each to thier own. My argument is if Coldplay are so rubbish, depressing and gay why have they won album of the year for every album so far, why have they sold 40 odd million albums, ranked 2nd in the most albums sold in one week with X&Y in music history? And become one of or if not the biggest band in the world? the list is endless on thier achievements, for a gay depressing band they have dont pretty well.
