Default Why do you care for a band who have done nothing of note since circa2002?

don't get me wrong X&Y wasn't bad bad, but it's been 6 years. There must be a lot of sweating going on round Coldplay parts...

Heh, I've posted so little on the forum, but here's my reply.
First of all, Coldplay are one of the most acclaimed rock bands right now. Ok, X&Y maybe went too commercial, but it was still very good. I'm of opinion that all bands sometimes go through a rough patch - X&Y was maybe not critics' lover, but it was still the bestseller, so that tells you something of Coldplay's wide popularity.
I think if you're a true Coldplay fan, you respect every album in a certain way. Certainly, A Rush Of Blood To The Head was a great album, but a lot of people feel Parachutes was their best..people have got their opinion, you can't change that.

I like Coldplay because they're gifted, they write lovely melodies, sometimes with complex lyrics, sometimes with a great sense for simplicity. They're not pretending to be somebody, they do what they love and this is what I aspire to do in my life too. + they're really sympathetic to the fans!

X&Y is one of the best albums.

Ok, Parachutes is very good.
I love:
High Speed
Spies
Shiver
We Never Change and more.

A Rush Of Blood To The Head also
I Love:
Politik
God Put A Smile Upon Your face
The Scientist

X&Y was better than A Rush Of Blood..
I Love:
Square One
What If
White Shadows
Fix You
Speed Of Sound
A Message
X&Y
Twisted Logic

So X&Y was a very good step.
BUT I love the b-sides from X&Y even more!
Pour Me is one of their best song.

Ofcourse they are better than Oasis, why? Gallanger can't sing.. and the instruments are not that good as Coldplay.

Radiohead also.
They are good, but Thom is not a vocal master and Jonny Greenwood can't play that good.

I still love that bands.
Exit Music from Radiohead is one of the best songs ever written.

I defininetely don't agree with you! Shure, you have your right to think that X&Y is their greatest album but I think that both AROBTTH and Parachutes are better.

"Radiohead also.

WHAT?! Come on, Thom has a great voice, he does not only have a lovely falsetto, he can also sing very low, and Jonny is brilliant on the guitar, he may not have the guitarsolos of Slash, but he does have a personal style which I think fits the music very well. Plus they are both amazing songwriters who doesn't get caught up in a pattern, they always try to do something new.

Erm... If they're so unimportant, why did you bother to sign up on a forum to ask that question as your one and only post?

To answer your question, musical first love- AROBTTH changed my life.

Well, watched this one then?

Jonny Greenwood is destroying the whole song!
I don't hate guitarist, I only hate them when they trying to steal the whole show.

And Thom Yorke, well his voice is annoying.
Hes singing in one tone, when hes going higher or lower, the tone isn't changing.
Only the sound, not the tone.
Not that his singing is that bad, no. He can sing very good! But he is singing through his nose(do you know what I mean?)

Them records are very good, I listen many times to Ok Computer, thats for me the number 4 album(why number four?)

Well:
1: Coldplay - X&Y
2: Coldplay - Parachutes
3: Coldplay - A Rush Of Blood To The Head
4: Radiohead - Ok Computer.

How can you say Thoms voice is rubbish, its absolutely amazing and Johnny Greenwood. How is he spoiling the song, Hes making the song really. He is probaly taking main stage because hes the most talented band member and deserves so. he is so great!!!

MY CONCLUSION: arobtth is the best.

Thom's voice is definitely not a rubbish. But sometimes, i dont like his voice at the high note (a.k.a. falcetto).

I think it's kind of unfair to pick on thom's vocals on airbag because the nasal tone is intentional. it's like that on the album. fake plastic trees is a better representation of his vocal range.

Nothing of note in your opinion. Coldplay collected a lot of new fans with X & Y, including myself. As for the fans that already existed...they are still live performers, and even if X& Y wasn't a favorite of theirs they still are good to see on stage.

One "bad" album doesn't mean you have to just close the door and move on.

I mean ok, its fine to have an opinion about Radiohead, since it boils down to musical taste in the end. But some of those things he said just aren't true. 'Greenwood can't play that good' is such an ignorant statement to make. And when you put X&Y above OK Computer (and AROBTTH for that matter), no one is going to take you seriously.
I don't agree with the comments on Thom's voice either. Try listening to Nude, and come back and tell me his voice is rubbish.

I must admit sometimes I wonder if RH are really all that amazing live, Thom seems to sometimes sing totally out of tune.

But Coldplay and Oasis bah I woudn't give them the time of day live, Liam cant hold a note live and Chris prances around like a total prat and mutilates his lines...

Seen him singing Live Forever? very unlikable.

Still X&Y was very good, not as good as the previous 2 but Twisted logic is one of my favorate of their songs. Secondly the new album was produced by Eno, he reinvented U2 when they lost their way and it seems hes done it here too.

Thirdly Coldplay are not The Beatles bands usually go through times of inactivity, especially at the age their at now raising familys and such.
