But this is what I mean - I don't doubt you've seen him in all of these, but that doesn't mean that he owns them all. In the same way that just because he's flown in private jets doesn't automatically mean he owns one or uses one everytime he flies.

All of these kind of accusations are based on assumptions, not fact. We have absolutely no idea how many cars Chris Martin actually owns, how many times in reality he has actually flown a private jet.

I don't really want to argue over how many cars/jets he owns, as it is pointless and doesn't make the tiniest bit of difference to climate change issues. All I think is that promoting awareness on climate change should be based on promoting the facts, not on villifying individuals. Writing articles based on the latter is just poor and lazy reporting.

"I call on all readers to lobby Chis for more environmentally appropriate modes of travel, and a little less hypocrisy in his support of good causes. A LearJet, for goodness sake, at a time when the while world is looking to unified action on climate change, and alternatives"

That's just stupid. Really, really stupid.

This sounds like a typical Coldplay hater who wants to jump on Chris for doing something good.

er.. I like the band. I also have a PhD in the environmental area. I teach at a major research university. Never send spam.
As I said, this is an issue of credibility and social justice, just as much as doing work to support fair trade, etc. The science of warming is, let me tell you, really scary.
Live Earth concerts were not great on emissions, by the way. Loads of people flew in.

This whole discussion is pretty pointless. What does it matter if Chris Martin drives an SUV? Really, millions of other people do...not to mention the millions of other airplanes out there.

Anyway, I personally believe Global warming to be a natural occurence, and one not dramatically affected by such emissions nearly as much as, say, the sun itself.

hey i thought that they travelled by commercial aircraft everywhere, there were pictures of them at the airport in Brazil or Chile on the Latin American Tour? He doesn't own a private jet, he said he doesn't like it. He only travels on one when it is supplied by someone else?
