The lead singer of Blue Merle is the closest Chris Martin sound-alike I've heard.

I asked this in the random thoughts but didn't get anything back... there's some guy named Matt something, I heard his song in the mall and wasn't sure at first whether it was Chris or not. Anyone know who I'm talking about?

Well, i dont think Michael Stipe's voice is quite close to Chris', or maybe just a lil bit similar.

But that guy from bluemerle has really shocked me! That resemblance is so scary!

he sounds a lot like chris, but lucas' voice is raspier and darker in my opinion...

Goodness, this guy is Chris' Nashville counterpart.

In a way, yes, but I think Michael Stipe's voice is deeper and more... mature, if that makes any sense. It's a different sort of vocal quality they both have. Chris's voice just sounds higher than Michael Stipe's.
