If you can tell me something worth fighting for I'm gonna buy this place is what I said Blame it upon a rush of blood to the head... "... shibumi has to do with great refinement underlying commonplace appearances. It is a statement so correct that it does not have to be bold, so poignant it does not have to be pretty, so true it does not have to be real. Shibumi is understanding, rather than knowledge. Eloquent silence. In demeanor, it is modesty without pudency. In art, where the spirit of shibumi takes the form of sabi, it is elegant simplicity, articulate brevity. In philosophy, where shibumi emerges as wabi, it is spiritual tranquility that is not passive; it is being without the angst of becoming. And in the personality of a man, it is ... how does one say it? Authority without domination? Something like that. "One does not achieve it, one ... discovers it. Meaning, rather, that one must pass through knowledge and arrive at simplicity..." |

I live in Manchester, England. It spends a lot fo time raining, never snows enough, and is occasionally sunny. Its ace for shopping as there are lots of good shops in the city centre.
Its also an ace historical city with lots of fabby old architecture. Central Library is fab ![]() Manchester Town Hall is also pretty cool ![]() There is also an ace pub dating back to Elizabethan times, which was demolished brick by brick after the 1996 bombings, and then rebuilt a fe hundred yards down the road. ![]() The Royal Exchange theatre is pretty amazing too. Its an old industrial building and inside the huge trading hall, they've built a modern, round theatre. ![]() ![]()
