I never thought i would see the day that liam would admit that. I like oasis i think they have some great songs, but i love coldplay a heck of alot more.

He didn't "techinically" admit it I guess...if he would've named Coldplay, but he didn't. Of course we all know who he's speaking of, but we have yet to see the day that he actually admits it! lol

Poor guy

he was probably high when he said that.
liam gallagher would never admit that oasis isnīt the biggest and the best band in the world.
poor kid.
he needs to go to germany to loose some more teeths

As far as I know, Liam Gallagher is rather presumptuous... he thinks his band is even better than the Beatles, for god sake! No band would ever be better than them, not even Coldplay!! So... if he admited it... it's a great step...

actually i am really a big fan of oasis.......but it is really strange that liam said that...i read somewhere that liam started to belive in god so maybe what he said that was the christian liam..anyway coldplay is bigger then oasis but in 2000 oasis was much higher.......
i can understand liam...they are just wanted to make a good album maybe a better the coldplay does.....but it couldnt possible to do..
so i am talking about a lot of shit.....that was my opinion

i've always like oasis and i thought it was great to hear laim talk openly and honestly about how he feels about oasis.

like liam said they took their foot off the pedal for a while and made a few mistakes. but this year they've released a really good album and have been great on tour.

I think coldplay have changed things for alot of bands, making other bands realise if they work hard they could be sucessful too. coldplay played some big and famous american venues on the 'rush of blood' tour in 2003 eg madison square garden, hollywood bowl and red rocks to name a few. Oasis have now raised their game on this latest tour to play their biggest ever venues in america.
i think the influence of coldlay has made them get their drive, focus and ambition back.

just to add to that coldplay have done alot of promo for their records, for example tv, radio and internet sessions, interviews etc. other bands are catching on to this. oasis for example have done alot more promo appearances for this album than any of the others

How about, both bands are shit?

Liam's just raising attention, for entertainment purposes. In the 60's there was a natural (And COOL) rivalry between The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, and Coldplay or Oasis are hardly anywhere on that scale. But Liam's trying to do something. And failing.

It's hardly a revelation. Coldplay ARE bigger than Oasis right now (worldwide that is---I suggest people check tickts sold for UK gigs this summer though, Oasis kicked Coldplay's arse). Fact is fact.
