Yup, I've heard of him, and enjoy him very much.
I don't know what of his you've listened to, but he has three great albums: "Illinois", "Seven Swans" and "Michigan". The amazing thing about Sufjan is that he plans to make an album for every state of America (that's 48 more to go for him) and in between, he makes amazing records like Seven Swans. I don't know how he'll do it, but we'll see how far he gets!
