I still have a Nokia brick... after losing my iPhone, ergh. I would probably lean towards a Samsung Galaxy if given the opportunity for a new phone. Some of the Galaxy features seem neat, customisation-wise.

I was talking to someone earlier about it, they say iPhones are crap and galaxy s 3 was the one to get but I said iPhones are the best, end of.

But what does everyone else think?

Only thing is, I have the 2nd version of the iPhone , which is about.... 3 years old? approx, maybe more

But it is now out of date and I cannot update the phone further which means I can no longer download apps. Kinda sucks.

Appart from iPhones going out of date quite quickly, they're very nice looking and easy to navigate.

Price-wise the iPhone is very expensive and not everyone can afford one, which is probably why they have so much of a bad reputation?
I noticed the people who where bad mouthing them at my school had never actualy owned one before. XD

Essentialy what I'm saying is you should talk to someone in store and get them to tell you all the features and deals you can have with them, if you want to get one. Everyone has their favorites but it's more about individual suitability.

I have never had the urge to buy an expensive Iphone.. I have a Galaxy Pocket. I don't know which one would be the best. They both do a lot of the same things.

Depends which ecosystem you want to 'invest' in. Apple's locked down walled garden or Android's system (which allows you to install apps from other sources easier ie amazon app store).

As for the hardware, neither floods my boat, I'm happy with my £80 'budget' android 4 phone

I love my iPhone 5 but I haven't actually tested the S III so I'm not going to say that the iPhone is the way to go.

I've bought an used 3GS last year. I was happy with the handling of the iPhone, and I had gotten a huge iTunes gift card for Christmas and therefore had tons of paid apps so it just made sense for me to stick with iPhones.

That's the problem, you invest into the ecosystem.

If someone has spent a good few money on apple apps they are unlikely to switch to Android, and vice-versa.

I got my Galaxy SIII two days ago, and I'm extremely pleased with it. I wouldn't pay the extra money for an iPhone, the SIII works perfectly
