Why do some people keep tissue boxes behind their rear window?

If anybody here does this (or if you know somebody who does), please enlighten me.

The only thing I can think of is that there's nowhere else to keep a box of tissues in a car, the box is too awkward shaped to keep in the glove box or side compartment of the door, or near the handbrake, or at the passengers seat on the floor, maybe in the back on the floor between both passengers feet, basically it will always get moved around. I just use those little plastic packets of tissues and I don't necessarily need them in the car more then anywhere else.

I'm thinking it's to do with having snotty little children in the back seats who can reach for them without spreading their human dust under the back of your seat.

My mother always has a box of tissues in the car but she keeps it inside the car drawer (don't know if this is the exact word in English). She likes to have it so that she can clean her hands when eating in the car and she also thinks it's useful to clean the car glasses when they get full of leaves.

That's true; although most of the times when I see it, there aren't any kids in the car.

Even if that's the case, why would someone keep it there to essentially "advertise" such in-vehicle behavior?

I usually keep tissues and/or napkins handy within reach in case of the rogue snotty sneeze at 80mph, and I typically use one when I'm pumping gas (nasty germs on the pump handle are nasty); but it wouldn't do me much good to keep them next to the rear window.

There may be some practical explanation to that, but it may be the case that some people just throw the tissue box there after using it.

Another thing about cars (one that probably doesn't have a practical explanation) is that, in my city (São Paulo, Brazil), a lot of people are using stickers representing their family members.
