Default Finding singers/musicians in your area

Hey guys,

As some of you may know, I'm a solo pianist. But I've been interested in finding other musicians the past little while, to form a band. What's the best way to find a singer and/or guitarist, or other musicians really, in your local area? I've posted things on some music classifieds sites, but haven't gotten anything I'm interested in. Any suggestions?

I donŽt know anything about anything but this is what IŽm going to do
1. Record some demos of yourself of what you can do to show whoever youŽre interested in.
2. Go to many local shows, get to know people and they can show you even more people that youŽll find interesting for your sound.
3. Once you get to know people and people know you well enough you should hand out those demos and maybe invite them for coffe or whatever to talk about it and then youŽll make your selection or maybe auditions on who you think would fit better.

Good luck!

Definitely go to local shows and just mingle with everyone there. I bet a lot of the audience will be musicians themselves.

Hang up a flyer/notice at some place a lot of musicians frequent saying who you are and what you're looking for. I found my band by responding to one at the music school.

Find a friend who also plays an instrument. If you want to be in a band, it's better to do it with friends.

Oh no. The albums do fine but now all the rock awards are going to ed Sherran (who i do not like!) :/
