Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum, and my first post will be about a custom paint job I want to do in a guitar I recently bought for this purpose.
Excuse me for not so perfect English, but I'm Portuguese... So not a native speaker here ![]() So I have this new guitar (it was a very cheap one): ![]() And I want to do something like this: ![]() ![]() Or even this kind of thing (on the two panels, in front of the amps): ![]() What I want from you are some tips ![]() What do you advice me to do? What I've been trying is spray paint some random stuff in A3 paper sheets, and see where it goes... I've not tried very hard, but I still don't have anything close to what I want... By now I only have spray cans. Maybe I'll buy some paint, and glow in the dark stuff to try new things... What do you recommend to make the handwritten stuff? Is there any kind of special marker to do that? Thanks and best regards Joćo Norim

I think you should use some kind of special paint for that...I don't know what, but be very careful...
you could harm the guitar! You should ask someone who has done that sort of stuff before! |

I'll buy some glow in the dark and fluorescent paint, and make some experiences.
And I've done this before. I know what can harm the guitar, and what I have to do to avoid it ![]() Thanks for the advice anyway. |

I've done something like this to my earphones, I know it's not the same as a guitar but it still may help...
I use paint markers, they are like pens you can write and draw with but it's paint, you can also splat paint from them to give the cool Mylo Xyloto look effect, so you could use Paint Markers. If you want the handwritten stuff to look like theirs, I would literally just get a good picture of the part you want and copy it as best as you can. For the symbols, I would say they are pretty simple to draw but if you have any concert confetti you could use them as stencils. Hope that helped, sorry it's such a long reply. ![]() ![]() ![]()

No reply is too long
![]() Is this what you're talking about? I'm not trying to replicate the design, I want something in a similar style, but my words, from my band ![]() Thanks for the answer ![]() Best regards Joćo Norim |

Quote: Uniposca are not the best way for painting a guitar- i wanted to use it but they are good only for the signs and lyrics writed on jonny's guitar. In my opinion, the best way to paint is using an airbrush. |

Quote: That is what I was talking about. Of course I wouldn't paint the whole guitar with a pen ![]() I was asking if these pens are what Mollyxyloto was talking about ![]() Regards Joćo Norim |

The original paint job on guitars is poisonous - be careful if you strip it back to the wood.
