I know well their classic songs, but I never tried the studio albums. How does the discography stand together, should I stick to the greatest hits?

I think that you should check out their albums because they're good. But if it's your first time I guess you can't really go wrong w/ a greatest hits

yes go with a greatest hits....to recommend you my favourite albums for the beginning:

either "The Doors" (their first album, contents "Light my fire", "Break on through", "The end") or "Strange Days" (contents, "People are strange", "Moonlight drive" and "When the music's over")...the other albums are great as well....just don't start with " The Soft Parade" since it's not a typical Doors album imo...

So this thread does exist! I love The Doors! We were learning about the ghost dance cult in school, so I remebered to look this up!

Has anyone heard any of the new L.A Woman stuff yet?
