Default Coldplay tribute (Coldplace) new MX stage show pics

Hi guys,

I've been a member here for years now but mostly been more of a casual observer rather than an active poster. It's a great source of info for all things Coldplay though. This year I was lucky enough to be asked to join the worlds best Coldplay tribute - Coldplace. Since then we've been hard at work trying to create a stage show that captures the "MX" vibe. It's been hard work but I think it paid off, I wanted to share some pictures with you guys to see what you thought? There's still a lot of work to do, more guitars need painting and a few things need tweaking here and there.

I'd love to know your thoughts though...

Look's impressive!

Particularly like how you re-created those round neon light things in the back, and the painting looks just as detailed as the real stuff.

The neon rings are called "EL Flowers" they were the biggest and most difficult thing to build. They also cost a small fortune!! They are 6ft wide and we have lasers in the centre. They light up as they are made of electroluminescent wire.

We had a local artist do the backdrop at the back, he also did my guitar (I'm the Jonny wannabe ). It's a pretty amazing thing to see in real life 16ft x 8ft. You can't really tell from the pics but it glows under UV light. He's going to do the rest of the guitars... I think he's becoming our Paris lol.

I'm glad you like it though.

Haha do it!! To get the effect though you will need UV light. You can buy the bulbs to put in lamps from places like Maplins. That should cover a bedroom.

I just realised your from the US and you probably don't have Maplins there!! You can get UV bulbs online though.

Will fluorescent bulbs work? I have some really good lights in my room, which I think will help.

They're best known as Black Light Bulbs here, you should be able to find them relatively easily. Fluorescent bulbs will not give you the effect you want. Be carefull though, Black lights burn at usually much higher wattages and can overload many residential grade fixtures and burn extremely hot to the touch.

I found this glow in the dark spray paint I can get at Michaels hopefully

So it doesn't say anything about Black Light Bulbs. Do you think regular light would work on these? (I do)

I'm not going to mess up my wall, but I will use it on a large piece of construction paper, which I will put on my ceiling. The only thing I'm worried about is that a large paper will stick out and look bad just randomly on the ceiling, don't you think?

Regular glow in the dark pant, work's in the dark as opposed to any sort of light. It will glow, but usually fairly weakly, and it's not going to have the fluorescent glow like the Coldplay stuff. That kind of glow is only attainable as the result of reactive paint or other agents under some sort of UV light.

Excellent! Come and say hi if you do. We play in Netherlands a lot. I think we are playing some festivals over there later in the summer. You can see our tour dates at http://www.coldplace.co.uk
