Avengers breaks box office record

The Avengers superhero movie has trounced the record for the biggest ever US opening weekend, taking $200.3m (£123m) at the box office.

The box-office records should be changed from a money value, to a "tickets sold" figure. So films can be compared like to like regardless what the average ticket price was when it was released as the box-office records get broken every other month.
