the only problem is that it doesny sound right when you play the open Low E srtring (the tab says too)

that is definitely a mistake

try to use your thumb, then they should be right. (thumb is on low e string, 2 frets below the two that are doubled, e.g.:
9-11-11-9-0-0 or also 5-7-7-4-0-0
see? 9 is two frets lower than 11, 5 is two frets lower than 7 )
