Default Recording the audio to concerts

This is probably not allowed at concerts, and I'm not saying I'll actually do this.

But i'm just kinda wondering (:

What do people use to record the audio at concert and get like crystal clear results?
I just think it would be cool listening to the whole gig you went to over and over again....

What specific type of technology do you need for that? What brand does it the best/whateva

I am also interested in this. I don't think its anymore illegal than video taping, as long as you don't sell it. You can find quite a few concerts from this tour over on coldplaybootlegs.com I hope to record some concerts this summer but im in the same boat as you with what to actually record them with

i haven't done it but knew a lot of people who did for Dave Matthews Band shows. It requires some decent equipment with mic stands, etc. It's not as easy to hide and a video on your cell phone. The stands sit like 10 feet in the air.

Go out to your local music shop, and buy a handheld audio recorder. Ask for something that records good quality and can last 120+ minutes, you may want the opener.

Quality varies too as where you are sitting, and how loud people around you are. I intend to record my shows, the first one will be the best. I will be able to put it on the ledge, and forget about it. ITs to dark for security to notice either. Another option for you guys, if they have them, cupholders.
