Coldplay have reportedly invested in a massive recording studio place in London.

The four-piece are planning on using the property in Hampstead, north-west London as their permanent head-quarters. The move seemingly ends recent speculation that Coldplay’s future is uncertain. Today’s Sun claims the band have now entered a legal contract making them joint owners of the building which contains recording studios and offices.

Earlier this year, guitarist Will Champion said the band were planning on the make the move.

He said: "We’re trying to find somewhere we can set up and work from. In all these years working together we haven’t had a HQ, our own studio or anything like that. We want somewhere that we can hole up and see what happens."

Coldplay’s last album ‘X & Y’ was recorded at various locations around the globe.

Coldplay have splashed out millions of pounds on a mansion - to convert it into their official headquarters.

The British group - Chris Martin, Guy Berryman, Will Champion and Jonny Buckland - are determined to stay close to their families while they record the follow-up to 2005's worldwide hit album 'X&Y' and have decided to spend a fortune converting a building in Hampstead, London, into their base, complete with state-of-the-art recording studios and offices.

A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Coldplay spent 18 months recording 'X&Y' at various studios all over the world. It became a really drawn-out process and it made their home lives difficult. Chris has now got two children, Guy became a father last month, and Will and his wife had their first child in April. So they don't really want to be jetting all over the place any more. They decided it is time to put down roots and have a base to enable them to carry on working without being too far from home.'

The move comes after recent reports suggested the rockers were considering a "five-year hiatus", and is seen as a sign that they plan to stay together as a band for the foreseeable future.
