12 Coldplay Months of 2012: February (The Brits, The Grammys and a bit more...)

http://i1355.photobucket.com/albums/...psf72ca4ef.jpg

February wasn’t a very busy month but that didn’t mean nothing happened. They released their much anticipated music video and single of Charlie Brown and they won the Brit Award for Best British Group along with an absolutely stunning live performance of Charlie Brown. So I’d say that February is definitely the month of Charlie Brown.

February 3rd
The Charlie Brown video was released(finally!)

Coldplay have finally unveiled the Charlie Brown video, which features the Xylobands first seen during the recent European tour and The X Factor final last year. In another vivid video, shot in London, Coldplay are seen performing in the middle of a jumping crowd of fans who are all wearing the Xylobands that light up in time to the music.

The video although, didn’t become that popular to a lot of fans…
Some comments:

Yeah.....At first I was like "This is cool!"
At the first kiss I was like "That's sweet"
At the bazillionth kiss I was like "Okay?!" (I started to cringe when they were on the bench)
And then at the end I was like " Am I watching We Found Love?" ( all the fireworks and firecrackers)
Overall OK video. Not the best, not the worst. I do think Rihanna is rubbing off on them a little too much though. I understand the reinvention, but I feel Coldplay is much more mature mentally and musically than all the other musicians out there.
Thanks: 27!

I expected something better... Thanks: AlbaCT42!

I reckon they should give Mat a break for a while. I mean, his videos are great, but 4 in a row is a bit too much. They should make another one with Anton Corbijn, or heck, even someone completely new. I like all the MX era videos so far, but they definitely need to have a bit more variety in terms of directors. Thanks: SuperFitz!

12th february: The Grammys

Coldplay and Rihanna have been busy rehearsing for the two acts' duet at this year's Grammy Awards on Sunday (12th February). Coldplay will perform 'Princess Of China' with Rihanna at the ceremony and according to Phil Harvey – it should be one of the stand out performances of the night.

"Chris and rihanna just rehearsed princess. Absolutely beautiful. PH," he said on Coldplay's Twitter account earlier this weekend (10th February). Both acts are also due to attend this month's BRIT Awards and could team up once again to perform the track. It is also confirmed by BBC that Chris Martin will join former Oasis man Noel Gallagher on stage at the event.

Coldplay's nominations were as follows:

- Best Pop Duo/Group Performance (for Paradise)
- Best Rock Performance (for Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall)
- Best Rock Song for (Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall)

So on February 12th , Coldplay, well Chris performed an acoustic version of Princess Of China together with Rihanna. Which I personally thought was really beautiful. But wasn’t received that well among some fans.

Followed by a performance of Paradise by the whole band.

Sadly enough, Coldplay didn’t win any of the 3 nominations… So now on to the Brits!

February 21th THE BRITS

Coldplay were nominated for 2 brit awards : Best British Group of 2012 and British Album.

On February 21th the awards took place, Coldplay kickstarted the ceremony that night by a truly spectacular performance of Charlie Brown:

Chris Martin later joined Noel Gallagher on stage for a performance of the former Oasis man's track 'AKA... What A Life' - Chris took to the piano alongside Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds. Noel was typically focussed and lead the group through a strong and loud rendition of his track.

Coldplay wins 1 Brit Award: Best British Group 2012 Well done boys and well deserved!!

Oh how lovely they all look:)

When asked what it meant to win the Brit Award for Best Group during tonight's winner's conference, Chris said: "Oh, everything. All we want to do now is release a fragrance, open a few restaurants and open a theme park, JLS-style. We're hoping to have it tied up by 2016, look out for that. To be honest, most British bands have split up. Blur have gone, Pulp have gone, Take That are on holiday, we're the only British band left on the pitch! But we'll take that."

Other things that happened in February:
Goodbye Exhibition Room, hello Hypnofeed. The Exhibition room has shut his doors, the hypnofeed took over for all our interesting/funny/unusual videos .
