FOR CANADIANS: Much Music will broadcast the Brits at 8pm in all time zones, or that's what it looks like. Check local listing to be safe, on Tuesday night.

Chris Martin's band have ordered so many pyrotechnics for their opening set that officials were worried it would blow the O2's roof off.

A source said: "It has been a logistical nightmare and for a long time organisers didn't think they'd be able to go ahead with the plans. People have been running around the arena with clipboards for weeks trying to sort it out."

At least last year they only had to look into health and safety once, to investigate Take That and Plan B's matching sets.
