Do you think Coldplay will perform at the Grammys this year?
|
oooh maybe another appearance? and radiohead as well. wow so many great bands nominated this year, it will be an exciting show
|
So MX was released too late to be nominated this year?
I like Adele but if she wins Album, Record and Song of the year she will be the epitome of overrated. Also, I can't believe that Kanye's Fanatasy wasn't nominated for Album of the year, I'd go with that for 2010. 2011 is all about MX. Maybe it's gonna be nominated next year. Which is even better since Adele will be out of the picture. :awesome: |
Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall, rock?! Don't get me wrong, I love the song, but's it's very pop for me.
|
Quote: The Grammys have lost all legitimacy. Rihanna for album of the year? Again?! She's a singles "artist", she doesn't have any #1 albums. "Aritist" cause she doesn't write her own songs. |

Quote: Well there are awards for writers and performers, I don't mind about that. About the album I couldn't agree more, Loud is more like a greatest hits collection than an album. For me the only record she released I consider as an propper album is Rated R. And one thing I don't like about the Grammys are all those country categories, I HATE country songs. But I still think it's music's Oscars so.... |
Quote: I consider them the music's Oscars too, but they are really starting to become ratings whores. For example, The Black Eyed Peas and David Guetta should have never ever won any Grammy awards. Well, the Peas used to be OK, but now they have become obnoxious, as well as mr Faguetta. As for the country albums, Taylor Swift winning album of the year was also a major minus for their credibility. :D I feel there shouldn't be as many rap categories. There are some idiots out there that shouldn't have the pleasure of even being nominated (Flo Rida). :dash: U2 is the band with the most Grammy awards (22), including 2 albums and 2 records of the year. Overrated much? |
Bleugh, ETIAW doesn't deserve winning those awards. Paradise one I could be ok with.
|
Quote: You beat me to it, Ian! I like most of the nominees in these categories, so won't be unhappy no matter who wins...with one exception, lol. But as for the Grammys losing credibility? This is the same academy that created a 'Best Metal' category the year Metallica's Black album came out, then gave the award to JETHRO TULL! That ship sailed a long time ago. (Don't get me wrong, I love Tull, but they're about as Heavy Metal as ETIAW is Rock. :P) |
Quote: PSH. Coldplay doesn't deserve to win in any of these categories. Too bad the Grammy's don't really care about such things. Quote: LOLWUT. Quote: It's by far Foster the People's worst song. The rest of their album is pretty soling, though. Quote: I'm glad someone else feels that way. |
If Every Teardrop wins Best Rock Song(writer award), will Peter Allen and Adriane be credited as winners too?
|
Glad to see them nominated for something. Here's my theory: The Grammys love women artists, they'll give every Grammy they have to Adele. Just like for Amy Winehouse, Lauryn Hill, Norah Jones, Taylor Swift, etc. I'm glad MX will not be going against Adele's album. It would have lost.
Next year, when MX is eligible, I fancy they'll give Album of the Year to Coldplay, since they lost (tragically, I think) in 2009 to Robert Plant and Alison Krauss of all people (part oldy but goody and part female artist, Grammy loves both of those). It will be like when U2 won for some crappy, unmemorable album when it lost the album prior to that, which is should have won for. I can make a flow chart if anyone needs one! |
I'm not remotely surprised that the Plant/Kraus album one, and for once I thought the right album won. Of course, I'd always prefer to see Coldplay win, but that wqas a well-crafted and well-produced album.
Much more worthy than Rihanna or Taylor Swift!:p |
